1/ Eighteen hourse since the start of the U.S.–Israel operation against Iran - several insights and new pieces of information. ***The Middle East is still in shock over the assassination of Ali Khamenei, the world’s longest-serving dictator and the architect of the “Axis of Resistance.” Together with other eliminations, this is a strategic blow of historic magnitude - and the first time Israel has killed the head of a sovereign state. In many ways, Israel has sought to restore its deterrence after October 7, once it became clear it had none- not vis-à-vis Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, or the Houthis. The killings of Sinwar, Nasrallah, Khamenei, and Assad’s flight to Moscow are an attempt to rebuild regional deterrence.

Regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, I’ll stand with the parents of a murdered child. I’ll stand on the idea that protecting American citizens comes first. I’ll stand for our athletes who wore our flag and brought home gold. I’ll stand against medicalizing kids without parental consent. These aren’t “policy positions.” They’re baseline human values. If your entire political identity is just resist at all costs, even when what you’re resisting is the lowest-hanging fruit for common ground - it betrays your true incentives: power over people. The American people deserve better.

Since Justice Jackson joined in 2022, the Court has issued signed merits opinions in ~173 cases (OT2022: 58; OT2023: 59; OT2024: 56). Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson agreed (voted identically) in 93-96% of them—roughly 161-166 cases—forming the most cohesive bloc on the Court (e.g., Sotomayor-Jackson: 94% in OT2024; Sotomayor-Kagan: 97% in OT2023). This includes all unanimous decisions (~42% of OT2024) and nearly all 6-3 ideological dissents (9 in OT2024). They aligned as expected for the Court's liberal wing.
