@JamesTate121 For a functioning society, the needs of the individual must be secondary to the good of the whole. By analogy, the dog wags the tail. When the individual needs supersede the good of the whole, the tail wags the dog. Not sustainable in a functioning society.

@RyGuyFly25 @Matthewtravis08 So unimaginative. I think some told you this? What about make America kind/accepting/equal/rational again? Or are these on that list of words that this administration says not to use?

Fair question - If you had your choice to live in a neighborhood full of hard working immigrants just trying their best for a better life, Or in a neighborhood full of MAGA “Christians”…. Which neighborhood would it be?

Unbelievable! 🤬🤬🤬 Today, San Diego witnessed a government-sanctioned kidnapping. ICE stormed Buona Forchetta in military gear ripping workers away, then unleashing tear gas and smoke on the terrified community. Full on police state, fascism now used on American citizens. Stay aware. #OnYourSide #DemsUnited

I truly do not care if food stamps cover junk food. It doesn't affect me. But do you know who it does affect? The kid who wouldn't get a birthday cake otherwise. The one who only knows what it's like to say "no" in the snack aisle. The one who just wants to feel like every other child for one day. Let them have the cake. Let them have the chips at the birthday party. Let them feel normal because poverty is already isolating enough. If you've never had to choose between groceries and gas, sit this one out. Because food stamps aren't your business But kindness should be. Via April Dickens

The Democratic Party is blowing $20 million to win over young men. It’s called Speaking with American Men(SAM). Someone in the party thought this was a genius move, but it’s exactly why people are leaving the Democrat party in droves. So after the Democrats called them toxic and ignored what they care about for years, they’re surprised young men reject their nonsense. My 3 Gen Z sons could tell them for free why they don’t connect with the Democrat Party. Democrat policies put Americans Last and lying, mocking and tried silencing them don’t win hearts. It’s not just bad messaging, it’s a values crisis no amount of money can fix.

Dear James "Civics 101" Tate, How delightfully condescending of you to offer MAGA supporters a "quick civics lesson" while demonstrating you might need one yourself! Your oversimplified talking points sound like they came straight from a high school government textbook – which explains why they miss the nuanced reality of constitutional separation of powers. Yes, courts can overturn unconstitutional laws – when they're actually interpreting the Constitution rather than substituting their policy preferences for those of elected officials. But here's where your "civics lesson" gets interesting: the Supreme Court just ruled in Trump v. J.G.G. that multiple federal judges were overstepping their authority by essentially trying to run immigration policy from the bench. Your point about executive orders "not being laws" is technically correct but laughably incomplete. Executive orders absolutely have the force of law within the executive branch – that's literally how presidents execute their Article II powers. When a judge blocks a president from enforcing immigration law (you know, that thing the Constitution explicitly gives to the executive), that's not "checks and balances" – that's judicial usurpation. Speaking of checks and balances, perhaps you missed that Congress just filed impeachment articles against multiple federal judges for precisely this kind of overreach? Judge Theodore Chuang, Judge James Boasberg, and Judge Jose Cano are all facing impeachment for stepping outside their constitutional role. Apparently, some judges need their own "civics lesson" about staying in their lane. Here's a real civics lesson: when unelected judges with lifetime tenure start making policy decisions that belong to elected branches, that's not democracy – that's oligarchy with robes. The Founders designed judicial review to check unconstitutional actions, not to let judges become super-legislators. Maybe between your condescending tweets, you could read some actual constitutional law instead of recycling freshman-level civics platitudes? #JudicialOverreach #SeparationOfPowers #ConstitutionalLaw #TrumpVsJGG #RogueJudges #ArticleIIPowers #ChecksAndBalancesWork #ImpeachRogueJudges #ActualCivics #ReadTheConstitution

@RepSaraJacobs So Sara, are you working to solve the Mexican raw sewage flowing onto San Diego beaches or are you just happy to let the US be responsible for anything illegally coming across 5he border? Do you get warm feeling the comfort of all these people being counted in the 2030 census?

This is heartbreaking. When you're fleeing for your life, restrictions on asylum or the dangerous journey won't deter you. That's why a more effective immigration policy is to tackle the root causes of *why* people are fleeing in the first place. sandiegouniontribune.com/2025/05/29/dna…

I just conducted unannounced oversight of the Northwest Detention Center, which serves my district, and what I witnessed was devastating. One woman, who has called this country home for 20 years, was detained just days before her wedding to a U.S. citizen. Another man, a legal permanent resident for 31 years, a proud member of the Machinists Union, and a father of three U.S. citizen children, is also being held in detention. Trump is detaining our neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones without guaranteed due process and no accountability. That’s not American; that’s authoritarianism. I will not back down from this fight.

@CAgovernor @GavinNewsom You’ve had to take two emergency loans for $6.2 BILLION dollars already this year to keep Medical funded through June. Republicans are trying to throw all the ILLEGALS you’ve been paying for off. All Democrats do is LIE!
Clyp Keeper@DGrayTexas45

Gavin Newsom has approved two loans (to itself) for $6.2 BILLION DOLLARS to keep its ‘MediCal’ funded through June. Last year California became the 1st State to offer “free healthcare” to undocumented immigrants to “save the taxpayers money”. No talk about reversing this predictable financial disaster.
