I would be in favour of a complete ban of grid infill but I would also take "manufacturers not shipping profiles with grid infill as standard" 🙃

My favorite is Adaptive Cubic now. But it's in the group of infills where print time changes dramatically between layers, even on models with constant area across all layers 🔪 Big big no no on smaller models where you hit the cooling minimum layer time threshold, makes very visible artifacts on perimeters going from shiny to matte in a repeating pattern. Not that long ago we added "Consistent surface" slowdown logic in @PrusaSlicer, basically solving the biggest issue. But I think there's one more blocker to deal with for good. I'll dig up my notes from last year, I was doing a deeper dive into this, but tldr: the whole 3DP community including us kinda picked the non-optimal path when it comes to balancing print time, material use, and actual strength. @BobKarnes @BlayneSapelli @MakerViking A lot of newbies think they can only use files from their printer's website. Having a good model library will make the U1 more appealing to first time buyers, even if it's complete nonsense. You can keep using whatever you want.

think about it, it's a win win. We still get the machines with no bias, you get to uh, pay us, what's not to like.
