Thank you, Calgary. 💙 Yesterday’s 2026 Calgary Policing Summit brought together community members, businesses, subject‑matter experts, civic leaders, and members of the Calgary Police Service for a powerful day of learning, reflection, and forward‑thinking dialogue.

After more than 40 years of dedicated service, one of Calgary’s finest is hanging up her duty belt as Det. Theresa Garagan retires from the Calgary Police Service. From her early days on patrol to her work as a School Resource Officer & within the General Investigations Unit, she has made a lasting difference in the lives of Calgarians. Beyond policing, Theresa dedicated more than 20 years to the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. Her commitment earned her several international honours, including the prestigious International Chief Richard LaMunyon LETR Hall of Fame Award. She continues to coach Special Olympics athletes in track & alpine skiing. Theresa finished her final shift proudly working alongside her two daughters, a fitting end to an extraordinary career. Thank you, Det. Garagan, for your decades of service, your leadership & your dedication to keeping Calgarians safe. Your legacy will continue to inspire.
