@KlitgaardLaura Hmmm - mange indspark fra mænd her.

550 million people are living with chronic respiratory diseases, yet many still don’t receive the most appropriate care for their condition. Learn more from physicians @ProfHurst & @CPorsbjerg about clinical changes that could help improve care: learn.az/6013PLp2R

@doclip1 I think this is quite likely, and definitely the next level of understanding we need! Call for adding markers of AHR and mast cells to the workup of severe asthma before biologics!

@CPorsbjerg Seminal work . Do you envisage this mast cell concept can be applied to more severe asthma pts?

@ProfHurst Because COPD exacerbation reflect an epithelial damage driven immune hyperresponsiveness to triggers such as virus - and targeting the epithelium via the anti-IL13 effects is more ffe tive than targeting IL5? As well as targeting mucus metaplasia. And epithelial mast cells..?

Need to see the data, and a paper, but this press release suggests positive results on exacerbations, lung function and HRQOL for dupilumab in *eosinophilic* #COPD… It’s been a long wait for such promising data. Which rather begs the question… sanofi.com/en/media-room/…

Happy to see our research highlighted by the ERS! A key takeaway for daily practice is the need for routine airway inflammometry - not only in specialized SA clinics - as eosinophilia otherwise is overlooked in a large proportion of patients @RespBispebjerg @PluZdk @CPorsbjerg
ERS publications@ERSpublications

T2 inflammation is highly prevalent, with biomarker co-expression a particular trait of severe asthma. The best treatable trait, eosinophilia, is missed in half of patients with mild–moderate and one-third with severe asthma without airway inflammometry. bit.ly/3rVPNbv

Great to see our VITAL study out! HDM-SLIT improves bronchial epithelial antiviral resistance to viral infection - potentially explaining the efficacy of HDM-SLIT reducing exacerbations in allergic asthma. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36701676/
