Fire Safety Lecture & Mock Drill Conducted at the Institute A special lecture and mock drill on fire safety were organized at the institute today. Experts from FSAI delivered an informative session on various aspects of fire safety and emergency response. During the programme, employees and research scholars were given practical training on the types and proper use of fire extinguishers, along with essential safety measures to be followed during fire emergencies. Participants actively took part in the mock drill and learned hands-on operation of fire extinguishers. Congratulations to Dr. N.P. Yadav, Scientist-F, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, and team on the grant of South African Patent (Patent No. 2025/04114) for their innovative work titled “Fennel oil loaded polymeric bead formulation for insecticidal activity and process of preparation thereof.” The polymeric bead technology has already been licensed to industry, reflecting its strong translational and societal impact towards #AtmanirbharBharat. “CSIR-CIMAP is sitting on a gold mine of opportunities,” said Dr. Prabodh Kumar Trivedi during #NationalTechnologyDay2026 celebrations. He highlighted the institute’s advanced research ecosystem, innovation-driven work, and the success of #AromaMission in strengthening India’s leadership in lemongrass & essential oils. Dr. Trivedi also reaffirmed CSIR-CIMAP’s commitment to inclusive growth, workplace dignity, and teamwork, calling workers & students the “real backbone of the institute.”

Marking Labour Day 2026, Dr. Sunita Singh Dhawan conducted a session on the POSH Act, 2013, emphasizing workplace dignity and safety. Labourers associated with the institute were also felicitated for their contributions. As part of its outreach programmes, CSIR-CIMAP provided hands-on skill training to Self-Help Group women from Uttar Pradesh in herbal agarbatti making, aromatic candles, rose water, hydrosols, and eco-friendly herbal products. More than 300 school students also visited the campus for scientific exposure.

CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants celebrated National Technology Day 2026 under the theme “Responsible Innovation for Inclusive Growth” with initiatives focused on technology transfer, women empowerment, scientific outreach, and strategic collaborations. Key agreements signed during the National Technology Day 2026 celebrations at CSIR-CIMAP included: • MoU with Frezool Industries Pvt. Ltd. for market seeding of five herbal products. • Technology Transfer Agreement with ICAR-KVK Ernakulam for localized production of herbal bio-agents. • Three-year partnership with Lucknow Development Authority for urban greening and medicinal plant landscaping projects. • Collaboration with Tantia University for wellness and hygiene-related TBIC services.

Chaired the meeting to review preparations for the forthcoming “Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar” campaign and the upcoming “India International Science Festival” #IISF2026, at Prithvi Bhawan, New Delhi. Taking inspiration from PM Sh @narendramodi 's Swachh Bharat Mission, this nationwide coastal cleanliness drive from 12th–19th September will cover India’s 11,098 km coastline with emphasis on public participation and marine ecological conservation. Also discussed preparations for the 4-day “India International Science Festival” IISF 2026, scheduled to be held this year in Pune in the third week of December.

The Management of Parul University #Vadodara sprung a pleasant surprise by arranging an interaction of around 100+ students hailing from different districts of #Jammu region, who are currently pursuing various courses like Engeering, Nursing, Management, Science etc in the campus. Overall, I was told that there are hundreds of students from #JammuAndKashmir presently enrolled in the University.

CSIR-CIMAP conducted an IP awareness program on 08.05.2026 in its Lucknow campus. The program was attended by more than 100 participants from scientists, students and staff of CSIR-CIMAP. Dr. PK Singh, Scientist-G, CSIR-NBRI delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the topic ‘Intellectual property on an expired patent: Work for the future and never give up’. सीएसआईआर सीमैप के द्वारा हालीआन प्रोजेक्ट के अन्तर्गत कराई गई टिकाऊ खेती पर किसान गोष्ठी सीएसआईआर सीमैप द्वारा लगातार टिकाऊ खेती पर कार्य कर रही है इसी टिकाऊ खेती के लिए हालीआन प्रोजेक्ट के अंतर्गत जिले बाराबंकी के फतेहपुर क्लस्टर में ग्राम मदनपुर गांव में एक दिवसीय किसान गोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक डॉ संजय कुमार ने प्रोजेक्ट के बारे में तथा संस्थान के कार्यों की जानकारी प्रदान की , डॉ अनिल कुमार सिंह ने मेंथा की उन्नत खेती एवं गुणवत्ता पौध तैयार करने बारे में जानकारी दी,को बताया तथा सीमैप से आए डॉ रक्षपाल ने मेंथा के आसवन अपशिष्ट से कैसे बर्मी कंपोस्ट यूनिट तथा जैविक कटलरी ,मशरूम की खेती कैसे करे और कैसे अपनी आय को बढ़ाए और अपने वातावरण को दूषित होने से बचाए ,डॉ विनीत ने ड्रोन से छिड़काव के बारे में जानकारी दी तथा डॉ नेहा ने कैसे मेंथा में सिंचाई प्रावधन एवं ड्रिप सिंचाई द्वारा जिसमें पानी की बचत की जानकारी दी इस किसान गोष्ठी में सीएसआईआर सीमैप के शोधार्थी मयंक श्रीवास्तव, अंकुल वर्मा ,धर्मेन्द्र सिंह वर्मा , अमरेंद्र कुमार सिंह , GIZ से श्री अमित कुमार त्रिपाठी सिनर्जी टेक्नोफिल प्राइवेट लिमिटेड से डॉ अजय,संदीप,राघवेंद्र मौजूद रहे तथा इस किसान गोष्ठी के दौरान क्लस्टर के 150 से ज्यादा किसानों ने बढ़ चढ़ कर भाग लिया। इस कार्यक्रम के समापन के बाद किसानों ने सीएसआईआर सीमैप के डायरेक्टर डॉ प्रबोध कुमार त्रिवेदी तथा वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक डॉ राजेश कुमार वर्मा का आभार व्यक्त किया । @CSIR_IND @DrJitendraSingh @DrNKalaiselvi @PrabodhTrivedi
