#ScienceInSlides Can two familiar medicines become a new weapon against one of the deadliest brain cancers? @DBTIndia-supported researchers have developed a patented therapeutic strategy that combines two established drugs to target high-grade glioma, an aggressive form of brain cancer with limited treatment options. By activating the tumour-suppressor protein Par-4, this novel combination promotes cancer cell death and demonstrated greater effectiveness in laboratory studies than either drug alone. With both medicines already clinically established for other conditions, this approach highlights the promise of drug repurposing in accelerating the path toward future cancer therapies.
