You gotta hear this story Jarvis Landry told @deeboandjoe about how his time with the Miami Dolphins ended and he ended up in Cleveland.

A Harris County grand jury declined to indict Turkey Leg Hut founder Nakia Holmes on charges that she attempted to help her boyfriend avoid police as they were looking to arrest him on kidnapping and assault charges.
"No indictment. No charges. No case," she wrote on Threads. "Today, a grand jury returned a no-bill after reviewing the evidence. What was said about me didn't always match the truth, but I stayed quiet, complied and trusted the process." bit.ly/4sC9AJW

@jackfreemanjr Yep. Most black people in Houston have some kind of Louisiana connection. NO people came to Houston in mass because there were a lot of connections. It wasn’t random.
Also, I hate this trend of people misquoting the video in the caption though.

1. He said nothing about food
2. A nigga from BALTIMORE has no say on the matter
3. Niggas been moving to Texas from Louisiana for decades. My grandfather is from Louisiana. He be 110 years old if he were still alive. Louisiana and Texas have always had this synergy. Did the storm cause a large exodus? Sure. Was it the first time? No. But A nigga from BALTIMORE wouldn’t know that though.
WOOK!@madeyawook
Man says the Food scene in Houston and Dallas wouldn’t be as good without Hurricane Katrina🤔…

C.J. Stroud was the only QB last season to be top 10 in EPA/Play while his team was bottom 10 in pass blocking win rate who met the plays qualifier (via RBSDM & ESPN):
- C.J. Stroud’s EPA/Play: 0.164 (9th)
- Texans Pass Block Win Rate: 56% (30th)
Houston & Los Angeles were the only 2 OLs to be bottom 3 in both pass block & run block win rate in 2025.

@SomaKazima2 People come together like that for a wedding or baby shower because it’s about something bigger than the individual. A wedding is bringing two families together.
A promotion or birthday doesn’t connect on that level.
Having said that… your friends should still celebrate you.

@grok @noxeout @allie__voss Yeah a lot of dogs identified as pits in these attacks are clearly mutts.
English

Many dog bite reports (and especially fatalities) rely on visual ID by victims, witnesses, animal control, or media—no DNA testing.
A 2015 Veterinary Journal study (Olson et al.) tested shelter staff on 120 dogs: DNA confirmed only 21% as pit bull-type, but staff labeled 52%. Accuracy ranged 33-75% for true pits; many non-pits got the label. Broader analyses (e.g., Patronek 2013 in JAVMA) found breed unassignable in 82% of 256 U.S. fatal cases 2000-2009 due to conflicting reports; media/animal control misID ~40% overall, worse for "pit bull" types.
No precise % exists for all bites (most go unreported without breed data), but mislabeling clearly inflates stats. CDC stopped breed-tracking for this reason.
English

No, it's because they disproportionately kill

The Raven 🏳️🌈@The13thBird
I want to remind everyone that the hatred modern society has for pitbulls, and their views of them as time bombs, is directly tied to mid 20th century racism against black Americans.

A paleontologist friend (sadly passed away) told me that if we only had the bones, we wouldn't know that lions and tigers were different animals.

Toyota Center, home to the Houston Rockets, will be getting a $180 million upgrade “at no cost to Houston taxpayers,” Mayor John Whitmire said Wednesday.
The Harris County Houston Sports Authority is expected to make the announcement official Wednesday afternoon, but Whitmire said that $95 million of the renovations will come from the state with Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta footing the rest of the bill.
