@PaulHShapiro People don't want a "meat experience" that doesn't rely on animals either. People have been eating meat since the dawn of time, it's not a good idea to stop now. The idea of fake meat is just disturbing.

Meat prices are up, yet meat consumption is still rising. Even with more affordable plant-based foods like lentil soup & bean/rice burritos, it's clear: most people want the meat experience. All the more reason we must create meat experiences that don't rely on animals.

It takes some talent to make a fursuit from scratch, plus a lot of them are great artists in other ways. I think it's a great hobby for them.

It was a group of people that liked anthro characters and wanted a group that also had an interest in the art style. You can literally Google that or watch any of the hundreds of videos that go into its history.

That's a bummer, there were a lot of people looking forward to it. It's literally just people getting together to be social, so lame people were badmouthing it for clicks.

@tiredcorndog @MrAndyNgo I've heard the furry thing started out as a fetish group in the 80s There may still be some of that going on in some subgroup, but that's the case with anything. The majority of furrys are no different than any other group of enthusiasts.
