@CTComptroller How about affordable electric? x.com/i/status/20327…
Metal Stud2003@MStud20033531
@GovNedLamont Revolution Wind is a complete farce & abuse of taxpayer money. It will never lower anyone's electric bill. You spent millions of taxpayer money on a farce that will never generate enough for turn around. Get some popcorn boys & girls. Gather round & let's have a watch👇

When I first ran for State Rep, I had a literal notebook full of the things I wanted to do to help people.
But when I got to Hartford, I was told we couldn't do any of them because we were in a fiscal crisis.
Well, we've spent the last decade getting out of that crisis, and now we can and should be doing more to help people and lower costs.

Well, the Waterbury was profitable as recently at 2018 before Prospect bled it dry and drove it into the ground so we believe it can be profitable again once the infrastructure is improved and people once again have confidence in coming back after years of staying away because of the terrible stories and narrative about the hospital.
English

@CT_DOGE @CTComptroller @uconnhealth @waterburyhosp John Dempsey Hospital’s fiscal health is certainly not to be emulated.
Waterbury Hospital is vital to Waterbury and surrounding communities. It’s in a me$$.
How many taxpayer$ see it flourishing and providing AFFORDABLE health care within the next decade under the UConn logo?
English

So proud to have spent the last few months working with the team at @uconnhealth to keep @waterburyhosp open and to begin a new, exciting chapter there. That hospital and the community have been though a lot these last few years, but it's a new day for health care in greater Waterbury and that's a really good thing.

Connecticut is home to more than 360,000 small businesses, and one of my favorite parts of this job has been connecting with the small business owners fueling our economy.
Over the last few weeks, I've met with small business owners throught Middlesex County to understand how the state of Connecticut can make growing a business easier. I'm always looking for feedback, let me know what you think we can do to help.

@scott_wheeler12 I hear you. The car tax is crazy and should be abolished but we can’t just do it in a vacuum otherwise it’s just shifting the burden onto the towns that they will make up by taxing your house. We need to do it as part of an overall reform of the broken property tax system.
English

@CTComptroller Sean, my 2018 Silverado cost me $700 in taxes last year. Total ownership the truck has cost over $5000 in taxes. Not hear to debate the merits of tariffs or right or wrong. My numbers are real, not hypothetical.

We need more cops, firefighters and EMT’s in Connecticut.
And as someone who comes from a family of first responders and as the person who runs the largest health and retirement plans for them in the state, I’m honored to be working with law enforcement, the fire service and EMS to solve this challenge.

In 2023, I stood in front of a damaged home on Granby Street in Hartford with local leaders to announce the Hartford Flood Compensation Program. A few weeks earlier, the legislature gave my office a challenge: come up with a way to help people and places impacted by years of unmitigated flooding.
So we did, and over the last two and half years, we've worked with the community to help 660 property owners, renters, businesses and non-profits. This program has helped keep businesses open and allowed families to stay in their homes.
While work is underway to fix the underlying problem that caused the flooding in the first place, I'm really proud of the work we did to help Hartford, and this morning we released our final report on the program which you can read here: bit.ly/4kYlYSf

@ctrewes They should. If we really want to be a party that’s focused on affordability, we need to be talking about broad base tax cuts.
English

Some say the State has taken on too many projects and enacted too many laws, specifically taxes.
Yes, pay workers, but if you want to help them, you would seek to shrink the size of state gov.
Did you speak to men behind you about the Payroll Tax or Social Security Tax? Our multiple gas taxes? Let's be honest, it's gotten out of control.
Will some Democrats run on large tax cuts?
English

It was driven by private sector gains: durable-goods manufacturing (1.25%), finance and insurance (1.12), manufacturing overall (1.05) information (0.81), professional, scientific and technical services (0.62), retail trade (0.46), health care and social assistance (0.29), utilities (0.22) and wholesale trade (0.2).

Thanks for your response Sean. What percentage of CT GDP growth that you are bragging about was from government spending?
Where does GDP growth minus government spending compare nationally I would be curious to see your analysis? Have you ever worked in the private sector or just paid with taxpayer money yourself? Seems to me you’re a career politician from Guilford that makes his money from collecting tax money of those construction trades jobs. But what would I know right?
English

@JJKaner Ask a buddy you have in the construction trades if he thinks getting paid the right amount for the hours he works is virtue signaling and let me know what he says.
And we are changing it, brother. Our GDP growth in Q3 of 25 was 4th highest in the US and 9th in Q2.
English

@CTComptroller Hey bozo just this week you had Pratt & Whitney and Black & Decker announce closing and moving portions of their business out of CT to states friendly for growth. Stop the bullshit virtu signaling and do something to change it. Everyone’s on to the Democrats nonsense here in CT

@susanamendoza10 Thanks for the inspiration, my friend!

I'm so happy my Prevailing Wage Executive Order is being copied around the country to ensure that working men and women are paid a fair and livable wage for their work. I wish my Connecticut counterpart, Sean Scanlon, success in passing his own bill! @CTComptroller
