As drones continue to reshape the character of war, the Drone Dominance Program is seeking reusable bomber/dropper platforms to augment one-way attack drones. The DoW will award approximately $32 million in initial prototype orders. These capabilities will provide ground combat forces with the tools needed to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy in close combat. This newly announced “Mission C” is organized around two stages: a vendor-operated bomber qualifier and military-operated bomber gauntlet to identify the most capable systems for scaling and fielding. The Gauntlet will be held approximately 48 hours following the qualifier, currently planned to take place in October. Responses due by 31 July at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. Two years ago, @PalmerLuckey came to me with a concept for an autonomous, dual-use loyal wingman for attack reconnaissance helicopters. @anduriltech had been looking for a partner that had the right VTOL and advanced aviation team to design and build it alongside them. I said HELL YEAH! Since then, our teams have been designing this aircraft together. Archer took our eight years of aircraft design, powertrain, and manufacturing knowledge from the commercial program and put it into something new: a clean-sheet, dual-use aircraft platform. We developed it from first principles because you can't take an existing eVTOL aircraft built for an air taxi mission and tweak it for a substantially different one. We’re at Farnborough today with Anduril showing the world what we’ve been working on: Thunder, Anduril’s defense variant of this new platform. It’s badass. We’ll share more about the commercial variant (pictured here in the white livery) later this week. The team has already been test flying a full-scale surrogate of Thunder, and we plan to get the first platform prototype in the air next year. Proud of the team. PDW recently joined @EDGARBROTHERS on a week-long UK @Defencehq tour, showcasing the C100 to military end users across the United Kingdom. Throughout the tour, the C100 demonstrated the adaptability and mission-ready capability needed to meet evolving operational requirements. Discussions with units consistently highlighted the platform's multi-mission versatility, with several identifying a clear capability gap that the C100 is well positioned to fill, especially as the UK increases defense spending and investments in unmanned systems. The tour reinforced PDW's growing presence in the UK and Europe, and our commitment to delivering operationally relevant UAS solutions backed by close customer partnership.
