My question was drawn to be asked at last night’s Full Council meeting. I want to now share the Cabinet Member’s responses about #send . It has to be said, my residents experiences have not been positive- however, data suggests the SEND support service is improving. 1/3

This attitude really annoys me. They turn us into monsters than complain about our behaviour. What do you expect us to do? We are fighting for our kids fgs 😡

And then people are wondering how authority's don't have the funding, it costs them more to go tontribunal than it would be to train administration people to do the job right in the first place and follow the regulations that are in place. @educationgovuk @jon_trickett

Today Laura and Kim from CWaC SEND Accountability formed part of a panel at the Westminster Policy Conference on SEND and gave a presentation on the parental experience in the SEND system. 🧵

We gave examples of where the system needs significant changes and gave practical solutions to improve the experiences of all involved in the process. The meeting included MPs, political stakeholders, educational psychologists and many national SEND experts.

The worst kept secret in SEND - corporate neglect of vulnerable children and families by Local Areas - Officers are complicit in these actions and should be held fully accountable. They are playing poker with people lives and flagrantly disregarding statutory duties!
