I have some news. Myself and @JamesSh96 have made the decision to leave the Labour Party. We stand together saying goodbye to something we once believed in but excited for our future.

Labour has 35 of 70 councillors @Go_CheshireWest Yet they have 8/10 Labour committee chairs, with casting votes. All Chairs receive a special responsibility allowance (SRA). 6% of Labour councillors’ total allowances goes to @UKLabour to help fill their campaign coffers.

At Full Council last week @Go_CheshireWest Leader Cllr Louise Gittins @weezegee led her @UKLabour group to refuse a 2nd call from independent Cllr @ElizabethMacgl1 for a fairer council and better scrutiny of decisions. Instead she attempted to undermine Cllr MacGlashan.

Personal attacks, #bullying tactics, undermining and insults…the Labour Group seem to EVEN be unable to even pronounce my name! If I was #trans #Muslim or #black etc @weezegee Cllr Gittins @LGAcomms attitudes and comments would be seen as discriminatory…#itsnotok #speakingup

I attended Full Council Budget meeting for 5.5 hours on Thursday. Lots of debate but vote controlled by Labour (as largest group.) So, most amendments voted down but Labours Budget Proposal, to include Council Tax increase, was voted through. Again, I called out Labour’s unfair..
