Colorado is making our roads safer and more accessible for everyone. I was proud to sign HB26-1237, making it safer for cyclists and keeping traffic moving smoothly. Whether you bike, walk, drive, or ride, every Coloradan deserves a safe way to get where you need to go. denvergazette.com/outtherecolora…

The Lost City You’ve Probably Never Heard Of… Hidden deep in the mountains of southern Peru lies Choquequirao—an ancient Inca city many call the “sister” of Machu Picchu, yet far fewer have ever seen it. There are no crowds here, no easy roads—only a long, quiet journey through wild landscapes. And maybe that’s why it feels so different. Almost untouched. Stone terraces cling to steep hillsides. Empty plazas sit in silence. Every corner feels like it’s holding a secret from centuries ago. Built in the late 15th century, this vast city is still mostly unexplored. What’s still hidden beneath the earth? Some places you visit… others make you feel like you’ve discovered them first.

@TFrei I started paying attention to the Broncos in 76 but really became a fan in 77. Denver was a very different city then. Not much going on except for the Broncos. Our little cowtown playing the big bad cowboys was a huge deal.

In the wake of the reaction to Craig Morton’s death, I’ve again heard many who were born or moved here since that ‘77 season ask, “What was the big deal about that team? They didn’t even win the Super Bowl!” To which I nicely and patiently explain, “You, sir and/or madam, are an idiot.”

It's the last day of the 2026 legislative session!! House Dems are closing out a successful legislative session. We passed legislation to save Coloradans money on housing 🏠 and healthcare 🩺 and protect civil rights 🏳️‍🌈, K-12 education funding 🎓 and Colorado's public lands ⛰️.

A Fair Title for HB26-1430 Would Not be “Transportation Funding Adjustments.” It Would Be: The Voter Override Neutralization Act. “The people may vote to fix the roads. HB26-1430 says the legislature will respond by taking other road money away.” HB26-1430 is not a road-funding bill. It is a preemptive strike against the voters. The ballot measure it responds to is simple: Coloradans are frustrated with crumbling roads, failing pavement, congestion, and years of excuses. They are being asked whether transportation-related revenue should actually be used for road transportation. In other words: money collected from drivers should go to the roads drivers use. That is not complicated. That is accountability. But HB26-1430 reveals the legislature’s real concern. It recognizes the people may be so frustrated that they are willing to constitutionally direct funding to roads. The response is not to ask why voters have reached that point. It is not to fix the roads. It is not to respect the public’s priority. The response is to neutralize it. If the voters approve the measure, HB26-1430 cuts existing transportation-related taxes and fees, including fuel taxes, registration-related fees, late fees, and road usage fees. So while the people may vote to put more money into roads, the legislature is preparing to reduce other road-related revenue at the same time. That is the shell game. The people say, “Use transportation money for transportation.” The legislature says, “Then we will lower other transportation money to protect our budget.” This bill is not about improving road maintenance. Reducing road-related revenue does not fill potholes, repair bridges, or expand capacity. It only makes sense if the goal is to protect legislative spending priorities from the clear priority of the people. And that is exactly what HB26-1430 does. It treats a potential vote of the people not as a command to be honored, but as a problem to be managed. It builds an escape hatch before the voters even cast their ballots. That should trouble every Coloradan, regardless of party. When the people use the Constitution to say “fix the roads,” the legislature should listen. HB26-1430 says something else: protect the budget, protect the priorities, and blunt the voters’ decision before it can fully take effect. That is not road funding. That is voter-proofing the status quo. Strange and sad things happen in the last few days of every session. Things move fast and many hope that the people won't catch all the changes. This bill is a disturbing example of premeditated voter nullification. A blatant attempt to influence the vote.

Colorado has faced some of the most devastating natural disasters in our state’s history, from wildfires to flooding. No Coloradan should have to recover alone. That’s why I took executive action to ensure sufficient disaster emergency funds are available to support recovery efforts for communities across our state. We are working to keep Coloradans safe, equipped, and informed before, during, and after disasters, and we will continue doing all we can to support communities rebuild and recover.

@parkeralewis @Cernovich Buy a freezer and buy a half or whole cow. Much cheaper buying direct from rancher. If you can’t afford a half or whole go in with friends and split cost. Plus start hunting and fishing for your food. Much better quality and you can take the kids.

Ribeye inflation index has a big print. New price $37.99/lb. 17% inflation annualized from October. 18.5% annualized since last June. 90% cumulative since 2020. 11.0% compounded annually over 6+ years. Same ribeye, same store. High rates? Don't care. Bitcoin is the only way out!

Your favorite all in one inflation index has a price update. Same ribeye at the same store is up 6.2% since June, now $34.49/lb. 19% annualized. Since the prior update in 2024, compound annual inflation is 12.6%. Cumulative 72.5% increase since 2020. Bitcoin is the only way out!
