Update! To start, I haven't been working on other things because I am distracted - for some reason a vendor used a certain infamous UK courier that is known for basically booting your packages into low earth orbit. They have lost around 12 things 'somewhere' & at this point, I am awaiting a refund. So, that is why progress has stalled. In addition to this, whatever they did here reduced the income from posting, so I am running on 'fumes'. Everything you see here that isn't this device runs on cheap coffee, & around 150-200 of the little capital I actually have. I have mentioned this earlier, but I may set up a separate fundraiser so there is absolutely no blurred lines between what any support is for (and I need to do this for tax reasons anyways). Now the bad news is out the way - this is basically production viable (minus the power supply problem, less an issue more how I want to approach it). I need my manual and quite messy code to now be cleaned up, refactoring & pushed to a stable rev1 specification. The CAD stuff isn't even mentioned because there's no issue there, it keeps getting bottlenecked by the logistics problems. In this sense, if anyone is able to offer or provide *specifically* Claude tokens, that would be great. The only model I have used to be capable of approaching this is Opus 4.6, since I know every aspect of what exists here I can see in real-time when other models have butchered my architecture. Opus does not, but Opus is very, very expensive. In addition, without sounding superstitious, I have built over the years a form of 'working relationship' with the text output style & 'behaviours' Claude has, just like you would a colleague - I have no intent to make any of this a machine learning exercise so my requirements here remain very specific.

You can manage large projects with vibe coding, but you have to know how to do it. Understanding code structure, syntax, GitHub, and organization gives you an immediate edge over anyone who lacks those fundamentals. 🤝

The 'Map Manager' demo is now live on my site, but you'll have to put in a little work to get it working - reason being is respect to rate limits as the provider (overpass) is opensource (OSM). Download features are actually there because they work for exporting map files.

No they haven't open sourced a computer, I hope Nikita genuinely makes these accounts vanish because they are annoying to *have* to respond to. Anything you need 4gb of RAM for, and an Internet connection on install, is not useful. It's a Linux distro with preinstalled bloat.

@ShimazuSystems I miss batteries being removable packs. Would be neat to have a battery pack that is like 4 aaa batteries

How would people feel about the battery being partially external? What I mean by this, is not like 'oh just plug in a power bank', & I'm not just relying on 18650s because they're cheap - so they're part of the spec (more on this). I envision that the battery could potentially utilise a rail mount. The reasoning for this, and the choice, is that they are available locally & in large numbers - and the interchangeable nature of them is far better than figuring out how to replace bloated alternatives when they age. You can also charge multiple batteries, and then keep them stored, or alternatively using the modular power methods increase the current supply. If I put it *inside* the case, it's finite - you can't add more (easily) & replacing it requires opening up the thing. Creating a typical battery slot is somewhat difficult with my methods, as I am avoiding using supports where possible, & also there's challenges with water resistance if the power supply is next to the board itself
