It's because of this chain of reasoning: 1. Official narratives have been wrong before. 2. Therefore, official narratives can never be trusted. 3. "Tyler Robinson did it" is the official narrative. 4. Therefore, any other explanation is better, no matter how baseless or speculative. Obviously, 2 doesn't follow from 1, even though 1 is true. But people have convinced themselves that it does follow, so no amount of evidence supporting the "official narrative" will ever change their minds. They skipped rational skepticism and went straight to irrational skepticism, where conspiracy is the only available option.

It's a huge problem, it's Marxist ideology with President Trump set up as the chief villain. It's the media saying Nazi and fascist at every moment in unison until people think it must be true from the repetition and the SPLC funding Nazi groups to make it seem real. It's making assassination attempts into a joke that can be minimized. It's dragging the widow of a murdered man in the mud like she doesn't deserve basic sympathy. It's the dissident right providing a dumb fake Hitler wasn't so bad retoric to provide more fuel for the leftist project. It is a real time hate fueling psyop that believes the cost is worth the reward of the cultural result once certain people are silenced. There are nations that absolutely hate the United States and would love to see us fall, and Marxist folks here who are all the more ready to go with their program for their own goals. Recognize and reject it, thinking about each situation from basic principles and not being caught up in the cultural zeitgeist of the Trump boogeyman syndrome.
