Correct, RE3 starts 1 day prior to RE2, RE2 is day 1, city was bombed via thermobaric explosive after RE3 October 1st 1998, but getting upset over someone getting confused at the timeline of both of those games when both of them happen simultaneously 1/?

Resident Evil is by far the most accessible gaming horror franchise, all of the mainline games are on modern consoles, if general audiences really want to experience those stories then they can just play it lol

Two things can be true. - Zach Cregger’s film is going to be great and will potentially be viewed as the RE7 of the Resident Evil Movies. - Resident Evil fans also have every right to be frustrated because they want general audiences to experience the characters and the stories that turned them into fans in the first place.

I'm gonna' be blunt, after RE4, RE5, RE7, & the upcoming Zach Cregger Resident Evil movie, I am so fucking tired of the "but it's not Resident Evil-" crap. I honestly think Capcom, & indeed I suspect Zach Cregger, have a better understanding of what RE is than many fans do.

@yamilVII @AestheticGamer1 @_Bitnation_ The t virus creates all sorts of bio weapons, not just slow moving zombies. It has even created fast zombies! Fat guy is almost certainly another bio weapon type. And as far as the snow, it's a minor change for atmospheric effect. The time of year was never hugely important.

@3wojis What exactly do you mean in your view? Like are you upset that it is not an adaptation of the first resident evil game? Is your ideal that the movie would be about two people exploring a mansion while they get attacked by slow-moving zombies and dogs? Genuine question.

@ericsodapop @jackal27 Largely every criticism I've seen so far devolves into people asking why the movie is not just a retelling of the first resident evil, which it never was and doesn't need to be. This is a resident evil movie made by an acclaimed filmmaker, not an adaptation of resident evil 1.

@ericsodapop @jackal27 Largely because the story of resident evil 1 has been adapted into a series of watchable cutscenes three times in three entirely separate games. There are also canonical animated movies made by Capcom. What makes the games great is more than the cheesy pastiche of the storyline.

I’m calling it. Cregger is going to deliver a survival horror movie that perfectly captures what playing a Resident Evil game feels like and gamers are just going to be pissed that isn’t top-to-bottom “THING YOU KNOW” references.

@Tzn747 @SpaceBoy458 its storyline is not super suitable for the medium of film because at its core it's a delivery for the gameplay. The storyline itself of resident evil is not scary at all, but the gameplay can be quite scary. There are already animated films set in the universe, made by Capcom!
