Watch the moment 19-year-old Marshall Taylor drove a car on the wrong side of the East Lancashire Road in St Helens. On Monday 20 May, officers began following a blue Nissan Juke, with suspected cloned registration plates and Taylor failed to stop for police. The car was then driven at speed and on the wrong side of the East Lancashire Road. Officers carried out a tactical stop, and Taylor attempted to flee, but was detained by two officers. Today, Taylor, of Bank Street, Newton-Le-Willows was sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to dangerous driving, no insurance, and no licence. The actions of Taylor on that day, driving at speed and on the wrong side of the road with no regard to for other motorists, could have caused serious or even fatal consequences. This video shows our officers acting quickly during the pursuit and shows the difficult decisions our officers have to make daily to keep the public safe.
