A lot of people are missing the point. I dislike ugly architecture and irreverence and liturgical abuses as much as everyone on this app does. Think of what “parish hopping” actually means in the context I’m talking about.

Parish hopping is an inherently Protestant activity You’re looking for what the parish can do for you. Bad music? Boomerism? Ugly building? No matter, just leave and find a parish you do like! Once you get bored of that one, go try another one. Disagree with the practices of your parish? No matter, just ‘protest’ them by leaving. For most of history, the parish was where the local Catholic community met. We need to bring this mentality back, in my opinion. If something’s off, be the change you want to see.
