Actually compared to everyone else, India and Pakistan have still fought very civilised, even gentlemanly wars - no civilian targets, no non-military infrastructure, no attacks on population centres. Maybe in future wars it will change. But until last year (including Op Sindoor) both desisted from deliberate targeting of civilians. What is more, neither has been interested in endless wars. PM Modi did the smart thing last year by accepting Pakistani request for ceasefire. India’s objective had been achieved and dragging on the conflict would have been counterproductive. Perhaps there is something after all which the world can learn from us.
