He gave us decades of love and companionship, but at the age of 32, “a tiel’s work was finally done.” We had no right to ask him to give anymore. This account will be left up as a memorial, but without his voice and direction, this will be the final post. (2/3)

On January 29, Birdie was shown the ultimate mercy and respect, free from pain and clear of a battle he could not win. He was surrounded by his family and our grief is only outweighed by our sense of privilege of having him show us what true love really is for so long. (1/3)

Dad put in a new rope in my cage to help moving to and around the seebs bowl… It’s not often that I say this, but this is one of those times when he did something not terrible! 😳

@Call_me_Birdie I hate that the meds get sticky and gooey. Hard to get my girl to swallow that.

Dad and I went to the vet yesterday. He says it looks like we’re preparing for the Olympics this summer… whatever that’s supposed to mean. He truly is strange! 😒

It’s no secret that eagles can eat whole fish on the fly but it never gets old. Especially when they look right into the camera with an expression that seems to say, “Did you get that?”

@buckeyecub I don’t like them, so we argue, and when he’s out of words/arguments, he resorts to physical violation and barbarism.

@Call_me_Birdie Do you take meds from syringe like a gentleman or does Dad have to manhandle you?

@BillyTheTiel I hear you. Life wasn’t always this easy. I remember being stuffed in a metal can back in the days. I had some choice words about that!

@Call_me_Birdie I hate being manhandled. I always put up a big fight and then when they let me go I yelled my objections of it. I have to clean all my feathers from their human cooties

@tiellover I actually am supposed to have a third one, but it didn’t show up, and now the vet says I probably will not need it given how I responded to the other meds. 😃
