344 firefighters lost their lives in New York on 11 September, 2001. A further 220 have died of related illnesses in the 23 years since. Today we join the fire services community and people across the world in remembering all those who so tragically lost their lives on that day.

Great Open day yesterday, thanks to everyone who attended and donated. A grand total of £3,271 was raised in total. Great to see so many people from the local community.

Another day on the pump, this time @Darwen_Fire Great to keep grounded & listen to the front line. KCM presentation, 13.5m ladder drills (like riding a bike, still got it 😉), wildfire kit demo, & home fire safety visits. Great to see rear MDTs in use too, so much info available.

Beccy joined our Service in 2019 following in her dad’s footsteps. She was a dedicated and courageous firefighter, and a warm and enthusiastic person who became an inspiration to many. She is sadly missed and our thoughts remain with her loved ones, friends, and colleagues ❤

I’m sharing the very sad news that Beccy passed away peacefully this morning. She spent her last few days at @SJHospice who provided the most dignified & compassionate care to Beccy & her whole family. Donations to the hospice can be made in Beccy’s memory. ❤️

Twenty years ago on this day, firefighters Billy Faust and Adam Meere lost their lives fighting a fire in Bethnal Green. #WeRemember their bravery and sacrifice.

Two Firefighters Swept Away in Dramatic Leeds Flood Rescue. Man Rescued, Dog Missing Pedestrians witnessed dramatic scenes this evening as two firefighters were swept away in flash floods following a rescue attempt. The incident, which unfolded around 7pm near Water Lane, involved a man and his dog who had become stranded in the water following a heavy downpour. According to eyewitnesses, the firefighters themselves ended up in need of rescuing from around 50 meters downstream. Thankfully, the man was successfully pulled to safety. Yesterday we attended a Barn fire. Clitheroes crew is made up of people from the local community often supported by their primary employers. This support is invaluable. Below is the crew all proudly wearing their primary work T-shirts.
