Britain regularly arrests people for speech crimes that are utterly alien to the United States - a polity from which so many Brits consume most of their media.
Free speech is rising in salience as a political issue.
This “are we going to get arrested for having English flags” question is a legitimate one - given the scale of speech arrests.
Politicians need to wake up to the policies that are radicalising more of the public against them.
While the way this man expressed his view was impolite, his fear for his country is grounded in truth.

@dai_alectic @nik0_mcr @_isaacrose Although I understand the wider point, I do think people need to look beyond just the city of Manchester and at what’s happening across many of the towns in Greater Manchester. Where I’m from, Atherton, Westhoughton, Tyldesley etc, there’s been significant revitalisation.

@AmateurishRL Leigh have finished above Leeds for the last 3 seasons, and above Wire in 2 of the last 3. More silverware in the last 3 years than both, and back-to-back semi-finalists too. Which club that hasn’t yet gone to Vegas, has done better in that period?

@henry_parish18 @Murd1973 Bar West Ham in 2014, when City only needed a point anyway, we’ve always gone behind on the final day when a title is on the line. The pressure is off the scale, lots of city fans seem to be forgetting that. Arsenal will probably beat Palace, but no way it’s a walkover.
