@WildStirFry Going up to the Hollywood sign in uniform was one of the worst experiences of my life! It took about 4 hours and I’d shaken about 109900 hands. I was so awkward and am in a lot of peoples holiday photos!

The American attitude towards armed forces is so overwhelmingly positive. Discounts everywhere, free entry into certain places, preferential treatment... my husband was walking down the street wearing uniform and a few people made a point of saying “Thank you for your service”.
