@canadalifeco How do I get in contact with someone about an issue with PSHCP, you aren't answering phones and your online messaging just goes nowhere.

@codeopinion Paying for libraries and code creates a dependency that could cause issues. What if the license changes, what if the prices get raised, what if it's abandoned, how do you navigate all that? Open source let's you fork, extend, fix things yourself if required.

Can someone explain why many developers won't pay for crap? "That library is great but it's got extension features that are paid and I'm not buying it". Are they afraid to ask their manager/procurement? I get people working in all kinds of orgs that make it difficult, but it's still mind-blowing to me that I feel like people just jump to "can't spend money. Only FOSS".

This @canadalifeco transition for the PSHCP is such a dumpster fire, I'm being told I now need approval for meds I've been on for 10 years and we were told this wouldn't happen. I'm also unable to actually get through to anyone at the company to fix this issue. This is fine.

Canada Life’s benefit plan systems have been experiencing intermittent issues but are now working properly. Canada Life is monitoring the situation closely.

Working hard to involve the kids in cooking but this evening youngest cut himself chopping veg and it was *a lot*, poor guy 😢 Should’ve given him a slightly less sharp knife maybe? Any recommendations appreciated

@AntoineAugusti Thanks, it wasn't the hardest to setup from a technical point of view and highly recommend that anyone who uses API Keys to manage access to their services to set it up as a little bit of extra security.

If you're beating up on government workers who make $40,000 a year and facing massive inflation and just want enough money to get through the day, you're a piece of shit.

@tfc_tech_170 @psac_afpc @SeamusORegan @MonaFortier @CQualtro Employees had a choice, that's what the strike vote was about. You do know unions work by collective action right, if you don't want to abide by the strike vote that the majority of the union votes for them get a job in a non unionized workplace.

Introducing anti-scab legislation only to push for scab labour on your own workers is especially nasty. @SeamusORegan, did @MonaFortier and @CQualtro give you a courtesy call?

@psac_afpc It is actually possible that my best interest and/or the best interest of Canadians requires working through a strike. I hope I'm free to decide for myself when the time comes.

A manager that cares about you would never ask you to cross a picket line or work against your best interest. Do not clock into work once a strike is called.
