@its__roman @linkkling My whole stance wasn't that exclusives are good it was simply that they don't not port their games just to not port them, they do it because it drives people to burn their money buying their consoles and lets them get away with being an entire generation behind in performance

@its__roman @linkkling Exclusives suck ass I'm just saying WHY they do it. I wanted to play the new Switch 2 games but fuck if I'm buying a Switch 2 just to play Mario Kart, Nintendo is the most innovative company and they don't have any competition since Sega stopped making consoles lmao

@its__roman @linkkling I don't really understand people who buy entire consoles for just one game, like surely there are other games on the Switch that you'd wanna play on the Switch? On another note, the Switch is a good example of buying a console for the console because of it's hybrid design

@Calxcalibur @linkkling Like if you're dropping $500 on a console, it shouldn't be because it's the only way to play pokemon or fire emblem, you should be because you like the console.

@its__roman @linkkling In the end there will always be a huge market of people who won't buy an entire console just to play a game, and a lot of those people still don't buy the consoles and choose other methods of playing instead. Nintendo is still gonna keep their games exclusive to get the most sal-

@its__roman @linkkling Like you're not gonna come out and tell me the DS/3DS, the Wii and the Switch were not innovative consoles. Innovation isn't enough to sway everyone to buy your console, but I know a lot of people would've still bought the Switch even if Oddysey and BOTW were on PS4 or PC

@its__roman @linkkling playing games in general than playing them on intended hardware or the gimmicks of the new console or whatever else. Some people would still buy the console because the idea of a gaming device that can be both handheld and portable is cool and novel and (potentially maybe) useful

I think people would still buy Nintendo consoles even if their games weren't exclusive but their sales would still drop because some people simply care more about

@its__roman @linkkling Implying Nintendo doesn't innovate when they invented the Nintendo Switch and then added mouse controls to a console with no extra add-on required??? I hate to defend them but the problem with Nintendo is not a lack of innovation.

@its__roman @linkkling If they ported their games to other consoles people would have no reason to buy their consoles in the first place. Exclusives are an incentive to buy a company's console, it just so happens that Nintendo is big enough to release nothing but exclusives (excluding mobile games)
