@its__roman @linkkling but the switch 2 is different from the switch. it has the capacity to run better and higher quality games, which is why games like star wars outlaws are switch 2 exclusives. its anti-consumer yes but you also need to think about if these games will even run on switch 1 at all😭😭

@Jorden1506 @linkkling Really ironic that all of you have reasons exclusive to each other over this. I've had people saying that if there weren't exclusives 1. No one would buy them 2. the market for them would actually get smaller 3. it would kill every game company (no joke, had someone saying this)

@its__roman @linkkling People really throw around the word anti-consumer too much. Because that term is companies prioritizing profits over user experience. Exclusivity limits their market significantly so it doesn't even really qualify, as consoles have really small margins anyway.

@its__roman @linkkling Why do you think Sony is going back to exclusives? No one is buying Playstations anymore and it's gonna start chipping into their profits. The sad truth is that killing off exclusives won't be good for companies in the long run, which is going to lead to stagnation and closures.

@Calxcalibur @linkkling Yeah I was being a little facetious since the number one thing people have been shouting at me is that exclusives are good because they drive innovation to compete, something that would be the actual main reason to choose a console if there aren't exclusives.

Nintendo doesn't port their games because it *world* lose them sales, but that doesn't mean they're not innovative. They've kinda been on top of every new thing out there, 3D, handhelds, hybrid consoles, ect

@its__roman @linkkling Without exclusives no one would buy consoles, while you think this would be a good thing, it most certainly would not. It drives up competition for studios and improves the gaming scene as a whole, getting rid of exclusives would make everything stagnant and kill off innovation.

@its__roman @linkkling Implying Nintendo doesn't innovate when they invented the Nintendo Switch and then added mouse controls to a console with no extra add-on required??? I hate to defend them but the problem with Nintendo is not a lack of innovation.

It already doesn't work how you're describing. they would also still be competing with other games for sales, if anything it would cause more competition if there weren't exclusives.

@Calxcalibur @linkkling Really just sounds like It's nintendo's problem that the only reason people buy their stuff is because they're so tightfisted about their properties. They should probably innovate more or something

@its__roman @linkkling If they ported their games to other consoles people would have no reason to buy their consoles in the first place. Exclusives are an incentive to buy a company's console, it just so happens that Nintendo is big enough to release nothing but exclusives (excluding mobile games)
