@BlueFireDemon44 @Peenisbee_ I feel like we don’t have to. Like one idea I had to incorporate the bone lore stuff into the game would be to have Magnamalo actually eat from bone piles more like a scavenger. It would make him more unique wouldn’t you agree?

Even in modern games mistakes are made. Nergigante was thought to be bad until it’s revealed in Iceborne that it’s a healthy and natural regulator monster

Zoh Shia armor descriptions talks about keeping surpresed all those things, things what casually are only applied to the Monster what melts living humans to itself

You have to remember the notes and descriptions in monster hunter are written in a diegetic manner. Obviously the human characters in game are gonna describe him as evil because he’s a problem for humans.

Everything is explainable both ways, and that's FASCINATING.

@CertifiedNrkmr @speebus1 @MHFZZEnjoyer From my point of view its behavior would be unexpected to me if it was evil. If fatalis was evil and really hated humanity why doesn’t he leave schrade and go kill more humans? His behavior makes a lot more sense if you view him as a territorial predator

The way it licks its lips, how it rests in Schrade, its gaze following the hunter as they approach. It can be read as animalistic behavior for sure, but there's something much more sinister to it

@speebus1 @MHFZZEnjoyer People always say this but how do you know fatalis actually is malicious? Nothing I’ve found in game says it’s malicious. Also we don’t know if fatalis has flame sacs or not

@MHFZZEnjoyer honestly i think it's because fatalis is the only monster in the series to hold actual malicious intent, it's supposed to feel alien because it's a true fantasy creature in a semi-realistic world it doesn't breathe fire because it has flame sacs in it's throat it just does

I think I mentioned before I like Odogaron and he’s also based on a yokai. You can combine good naturalistic design and cultural inspiration
