You may not remember this, but people complained that the PT fights were all flash and no substance; they went too fast and had no emotional core. Abrams was very intentional about listening to PT haters’ complaints (not necessarily a good thing) so he did the opposite.

Probably the best example of how enjoying a film is not a science because I understand all the flaws, I think it’s deeply flawed as a movie…but I FELT IT. I LIKED IT BECAUSE IT FELT LIKE AN HONEST PLEA FOR ART FROM FUTURE GENERATIONS, so yeah…I liked it anyway.
