@nikoncooldix @Staceballs Can you point to exactly when those benefits have ever actually materialized? Because many states still have the death penalty and I doubt you’d argue they have “clean and safe streets” so it kinda sounds like made up bullshit.

@pixelpreaching @Staceballs the tradeoff is clean and safe streets, being able to walk alone at night, not having to check over your shoulder whenever you're out and about around town. you'd think with how women complain about feeling unsafe at night that they'd be all in favor of the death penalty

@Staceballs outside of the movies people who are wrongly convicted generally don't end up on death row. but some people do deserve to die, execution should just be a bullet between the eyes and none of the lethal injection bullshit. it's more humane to end their suffering quickly

There was absolutely nothing funny about the original evil dead when it came out. It was considered truly scary and nasty. A video nasty!! It might make modern audiences giggle now but it was in no way whatsoever considered a horror comedy when it came out.

@thereisnojayjay Yeah it was very effective, which means at the very least it was no less than good. I have definitely seen plenty that still have a lot of obvious issues but still get to you, and you gotta give them something for that.

Horror is very subjective, perhaps more so than any other genre. I find stalking-themed horror, like It Follows, or gender-violence horror, to be extremely disturbing due to personal experiences. Clown stuff is mostly funny to me, but terrifies my sister.

@thereisnojayjay I find almost all horror, on an emotional level to not really hit me, it's kinda like any other genre just with cool things I like to see. Exceptions are shit like paranormal activity, i sit there frozen in fear of what's to come next. i do not fuck with ghosts.
