This easement is only going to be 12 feet our house, 12 feet from our bedroom where we sleep” “I am just one of many homeowners who are impacted by Georgia Power's high voltage power lines that that are going in to support data centers that are being built all over” It affects over 330 private properties. Georgia Power says it will negotiate purchases and easements and use eminent domain Georgia Power claims its to strengthen the grid for the growing energy demand in Georgia due to many new data centers We should not be letting this happen. We need protections from data center projects

Massie joined ALL Democrats in voting against the single most important legislative achievement in modern history (the one Big Beautiful Bill) that provided record historic funding for ICE and Border Patrol and the critical authorities to defend the homeland.

This term, Massie has voted with the GOP 77.7% of the time. That rate is much lower than the median GOP congressman, who voted with the party 95% of the time. Massie's rate of voting with the Republicans is also lower than his own record in the last term (91%), which itself was lower than the term before that (95%). You can like Massie. @ChrisMartzWX Defining it would make it that much harder to defend. And probably create rifts amongst themselves because “fair” is subjective and changes from person to person.

Left tards never define what “fair share” means in terms of taxes. They never assign it a percentage or numerical value. As a scientist, this isn’t very convincing. In reality, they mean everything in your wallet. All of it. They just dress theft up as “fairness.”

@AOC The government increases housing costs in numerous ways through zoning and land-use regulations, rent controls, mandatory insurance and building codes, etc. Not to mention real estate being an attractive asset to store value in with the consistent debasement of the dollar.

Someone can certainly *make* a billion dollars. That’s not the same thing as earning. Growing fast and disrupting markets also often means chasing and wielding market power, political influence, and scale. Take Airbnb. They heavily lobby politicians against passing housing laws to protect working class residents because it’s bad for their business model. Airbnb could not exist at its current scale and size without the housing market destabilizations, displacements, and exploits that are supercharging the evictions of working people everywhere from Puerto Rico to Jackson Hole. Now young people are planning for a future where they will never be able to afford to own a home while others have 20 and live off renting it out to them at extortionate rates with zero protections. Yes, a tiny amount of people can make billions of dollars doing that. And millions of everyday Americans are bearing the cost.
