The strange thing about anti AI rhetoric is that it treats computation like a luxury, when it's rapidly becoming medical infrastructure. You're talking about technology that can restore vision, decode speech for the deaf, accelerate drug discovery, optimize energy grids, and cut absurd amounts of waste from entire industries. People hear "data center" and picture soulless servers. What they're actually looking at is the physical layer of the next leap in human capability. Being skeptical of incentives and energy use is fair. Being categorically against the backbone of tools that could improve millions of lives is something else entirely. Not very empathetic, now is it?

@BlackthorneAI Hi, if you're a real person, I appreciate the engagement. I think you made some general assumptions, however, that's fine since I didn't give much to work with either. Every decision has its consequences, and the idea that data centers are "all good" would be a naive position.

Here is something I learned today. I'm grateful to my friend who shared this with me, so I'm sharing it with you all too. You don't have to agree or disagree. It's just information. Digital information. Have a great night! youtube.com/watch?v=yNHYpC…

@NewWorldHominin Wow... So there are real people that really woke up one morning and thought this was a "good" idea? Could this be evidence that Canada is not a serious country?

The CBC "prank show" deception scandal is getting so much worse. The producers (operating under fake identities/fake company names with fake websites) told a number of RCMP veterans - people who dedicated their lives to serving on the frontlines - that they were invited to film for a show called "Life After Service." A ceremony to thank them for their service would follow, and they were told dignitaries would be present. This would take place at the CBC Vancouver studio. They were told to come in uniform. When the RCMP vets arrived at the CBC Vancouver studio on March 25th and 26th, the "pranksters" took their phones away, which they claimed was CBC Vancouver studio policy. The former RCMP officers were also placed in front of an audience of what they were told were about two dozen "journalists." And it was sprung on them that this was a "live broadcast", with "media availability" afterwards! Then the producers switched up the whole session to be not about life after service, but the historical wrongs committed by the RCMP against indigenous peoples - to berate these vets for being part of the RCMP. There is so much more but I am hoping the individuals targeted in this elaborate scheme will be able to share their stories themselves. Seriously, what even sounds remotely funny or silly about this concept? It is just sick and cruel @CBCNews and @APTNNews... what are you thinking?

The biggest alleged conflict of interest in the Conservative leadership race isn’t Peter Milobar… it may be the verification process itself. Who approved Persona?
Who benefits from it?
And why do the connections around it raise so many questions? Time to dig deeper. #bcpoli

I found out recently that I was deceived by social activists in an elaborate scheme dating back to January. A production group with what I now know has a fake name and fake identities gave me a friendly interview about my book A Day with Sir John A, and about Sir John A Macdonald, back in Feb. They connected me with a fake company called Heritage Figures Canada with a fake website and "hired" me to perform consulting work for them. We had what I now know were fake meetings, fake documents, fake commercial shoot, fake prototype of a Sir John A collectible. Then in a second filmed interview last week, they turned on me, and it was revealed to have all been a setup in order to demonize Sir John A and smear me. It turns out this is a taxpayer-funded CBC and APTN project. There is so much more, I will make a video. They also deceived @FrancesWiddows1

.@KerryLynneFindl, I will absolutely debate the issues and put forward a clear picture for British Columbians on the choice before them. Unlike other candidates whom I have challenged, I will never avoid the opportunity to debate. I do want to make one thing clear: British Columbians expect us to have a meaningful conversation around the economy, not a debate that transcends into only a ridiculous discussion around my family. If you agree with those terms, I am available in the Lower Mainland this Saturday or Sunday, before I head back to the legislature next week to hold the NDP to account for their horrific budget. Let’s find a time and a place to make this work.

@sitkamedia @JarrydJaeger @EvanLSolomon Meaningless words...Two Data centers in the city is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. The $300 million Kits pool repair is also horrible. If this project goes forward, it will drive up the price for electricity and water for everyone. Why is this a good idea?

A number of new data centres are coming to BC as the gov’t moves towards “digital sovereignty.” Sitka Media’s @JarrydJaeger asked AI Minister @EvanLSolomon about the potential risks associated with such facilities. Here’s what he had to say 👇

@PeterMilobar @PeterMilobar Just be transparent. Tell us how much money your family received the last 10 yrs w/ indigenous status and how many people in your extended family is in the Kamloops band. If its ZERO for both then great, no conflict of interest and case closed. What's the big deal?

@sitkamedia $300 Million? And you had people say "Yes, go ahead" ? Please do not ever take down this video! Perhaps future nations will ask why Canada fell apart, and this video will provide the evidence of how it all started. BTW, I'm a big fan of the local street interviews!

$300,000,000 To Fix a Pool?! Isaiah hit Kits Beach in #Vancouver to ask people what their thoughts are on the iconic saltwater pool, as well to find out if the $300M price tag to fix it is worth it? Should that money go to the pool or something else? Let us know! 👇

@junonewscom If only the park rangers in this province would do something incredible like say "NO" instead of "I'm just doing my job." We need Canadians in this country to consider the power of individual responsibility.

The look on Peter Milobar’s face says it all after BC Conservative leadership candidate Kerry-Lynn Findlay accuses him of a conflict of interest because his wife is Indigenous. BTW, the self-proclaimed true blue Conservative has made 2 donations to the federal Liberals. #bcpoli

Dividing people based on race is how David Eby won last time. I believe we are all equal. When we defend our principles - equality for all - we can stand proud and demonstrate to British Columbians that we are ready to govern. I'm ready to defeat David Eby and the NDP. Let’s get B.C. back on track.

This is atrocious. Like Peter, I (proudly) have indigenous family through marriage. This is morally indefensible; Conservatives must deal w/the fallout from such words (and resulting stereotypes). Remember, our words remain when leadership races end. Last, family = off limits.

PERSONAL: @PeterMilobar slams @KerryLynneFindl for insinuating that he has a conflict of interest for having an Indigenous wife.
