The past two seasons, especially the deep CFP run of 2025, have done wonders for Mario Cristobal's reputation.
@JakeCrain_ breaks it down on @LockedOnCanes
@the_jabronie I think the Canes, at worst, go 12-1 regular season as ACC champions.
I have them as my preseason projected 1-seed. Love the Mensah signing, 3 capable backs, Toney/Barkate, OL (and even DL with Damon Wilson 10+ sacks) should be fine.
Miami DT coach Damione Lewis who was the 12th pick in the 1st round of the NFL draft was a MENACE‼️

05/01/26 - NC STATE SERIES
🔥 Miami has won 5 straight ACC series and 6 straight series overall. Both of those streaks are the longest since 2014 when the ‘Canes finished out the regular season with 6 straight ACC series wins and 8 straight series wins overall.
🧭 The Hurricanes can also win their 3rd ACC road series of the season; a feat they haven't accomplished since 2019.

#GoCanes ace Rob Evans confirms with me that he will return this Sunday to start against NC State 🙌
The lefty suffered a bone bruise and ankle sprain last Friday against Cal
A much better outcome than feared 🙏
How good has Miami been on the line of scrimmage under Mario Cristobal?
Last year, Canes ranked No. 1 in P4 in pressure rate allowed & No. 1 in non-blitz pressure rate on defense.
Since 2017, only 18 teams have ranked in top 10 in both. Miami's done it 3 years in a row.
Thank you for everything, Dan! After a legendary run, Miami AD Dan Radakovich is retiring June 1. From a CFP National Championship appearance to record-breaking GPAs and a 94% graduation rate, he’s leaving The U having made a tremendous impact. 🙌 bit.ly/4ePsKbL
My comment isn't just about the three drafted day 1... I'm more referring the fact that Miami has a roster full of guys they have retained and are capable of stepping right in to fill those spots at a high level. The retention of elite talent that has yet to start enables development.
Miami now has nine total players drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Before Cristobal, it took three draft years (2020–22) just to reach nine total picks.
Cristobal is a program changer.
Miami’s nine draft picks this weekend were the most for the program since 2017 and tied for the fourth-most among any program in the nation. Miami was one of only six programs to have more than eight draft picks in 2026.
