Minister @DeanMacpherson joined members of the Hout Bay community to formally inaugurate the newly established Cape Town Red Bus stop at Hout Bay Harbour earlier today.
The creation of this facility was achieved through a collaborative partnership between the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) and the tenants of properties in the area, who worked diligently to allocate the necessary space for the bus stop.
This development is expected to enhance tourism, increase visitor numbers to local businesses, and generate employment opportunities. These outcomes are aligned with the core objectives of the Department’s strategic priorities.
Minister Macpherson emphasized that, “It is part of the Department’s vision to utilize public assets such as Hout Bay Harbour for the public benefit, transforming them into catalysts for economic growth.”
