The Matariki star cluster rises in the early morning of mid-winter, welcoming the Māori new year.
It's a time to acknowledge the year gone, celebrate the present and plan for the year ahead.

@ColinTukuitonga A hearty congratulations on this acknowledgment Sir Colin. I enjoyed working with you to achieve more in the Pacific, for our whanau. It has been a pleasure to watch you since from afar as you continue to advocate and represent. Thank you.

Warmest congratulations to Sir @ColinTukuitonga. A worthy recognition of a dedicated and committed servant of the Pacific region who has worked for over 5 decades to improve the lives and health of our people. Meitaki ma'ata, Colin!

@JohnnyRodManhge @Mihi_Forbes So are you looking to punish or create an optimal outcome
English

@FletchForMayor @Mihi_Forbes I don't know what to say fletch, there's a lot of people around new zealand who would disagree. I'll link the government inquiry that found 759,000 new Zealanders had "demonstrably unsafe" drinking water. the reason for new legislation is old legislation not working Fletcher cmon
English

@BoxoMonks @BradCongdon @Mihi_Forbes Many councils have not 'kicked the can.' Also, The LGFA issues its own bonds and is able to lend at interest rates below those charged by the major financial institutions, allowing councils that qualify to reduce their cost of burrowing. Also CoB will not be the main burden.
English

@BoxoMonks @BradCongdon @Mihi_Forbes Councils won't, but the water authorities will. How do you think all these"solutions' are going to be paid for. Funding and debt ceilings increased equals higher water rates.
English

@JohnnyRodManhge @Mihi_Forbes There is a water authority who's role it has been and will continue to be to hold non compliance and non performance to account
English

@FletchForMayor @Mihi_Forbes You're saying disconnected a lot, i reckon the rate payers who's councils have destroyed their drinking water feel pretty disconnected, especially when it's big farms or business interests being allowed to ruin the water. Who gets to determine who's future here fletcher
English

@Mihi_Forbes It is a partnership between local and central govt. that optimized the outcomes for all. Rotorua knows what the solution for Rotorua looks like and the govt. worked closely through KO and MHUD to ensure optimal use of funding.
English

@Mihi_Forbes I helped the Rotorua District council apply for the Housing infrastructure acceleration fund. A fund which will help Rotorua upgrade its three waters to cope with the number of new homes that are being built now and the numbers to come.
English

@PouTepou I'm intrigued. Always appealed to me but never tried it myself.

We need you to Colour Our Place, Scott Base!
Scott Base is Aotearoa New Zealand's home on the ice, so we reckon Kiwis should decide what colour it will be. Help us make history and cast your vote here: bit.ly/3FODWSH
