Weird how this is the litmus test. Whether you reinforce your mailbox with concrete or install some heavy steel box, what difference does it make? Is it your responsibility to make sure your property is easy to break or steal so people don’t get hurt when they make that choice?

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

The anti–H-1B comments on my last post weren’t surprising.
But the AUDACITY to pressure companies into hiring who you think they should hire? That’s not how this works. This is America.
You don’t get to dictate someone else’s hiring decisions. Don’t like it? Build your own company.
What I still don’t understand is the entitlement.
It’s my company, I decide who to hire based on what’s best for the business. I’ll choose skill, work ethic, and value every single time.
My responsibility is to the health of the company not someone else’s sense of entitlement. If that bothers you, compete.

We’re going to have to make up our minds about whether or not we want our boys to mature and be men as soon as possible or infantilize them and treat them like they’re children until their mid twenties.
A lot of people seem conflicted about that these days and I don’t think it’s been good for society at all to keep stretching out what we consider childhood.
