@JoeDellera you think you know a lot about gambling and yet you are still a gigantic cuck who works for the action network

Sure, but by his own comments he also played another 10k bonus bet on a +9500 parlay so here we are lol
It’s just important to try and bet optimally at all times.
If it’s life changing money then sure, do what you have to do but just trying to educate people that want to make the best decisions every time.

@JoeDellera It heavily depends on how big his bankroll is, and is 10k a lot of money for him or just a small portion of his bigger bankroll. Don't see much wrong with this.

Insane. And that’s how you get a outcome like that

Sorry in advance for the novel below...Hopefully some will find it useful:
When handicapping MLB, the vast majority of people simply look at the starting pitchers, and then base essentially their entire handicap on that...You can argue that was relevant decades ago, but today it's simply nowhere near as important.
You're getting 6 innings out of your starter these days if you're lucky, so if you're betting full game MLB sides or totals, you absolutely have to handicap something that the vast majority of baseball bettors completely overlook...the bullpen.
It's one of the main reasons last season I was up over 50 Units in MLB, and this season already up over 20 Units.
This includes bullpen rotations, how often a top arm has been used recently, how quickly is a manager is likely to go to the bullpen...all these things. I keep a bullpen log and update it each day to reflect all these thing.
However, all Bullpen stats aren't created equal. Much of it has to do with use. If a bullpen has horrible overall numbers, but a manager doesn't go to them as much, that's a huge factor and you shouldn't factor it in as much. Vice versa applies---If a bullpen is top tier, but rarely get used, same thing.
That said...here are the Top 5 and Bottom 5 Bullpens and their overall Innings usage so far this season:
Top 5:
1. Rangers 2.93 ERA, 107 IP
2. Giants 2.96 ERA, 118 IP
3. Mariners 3.12 ERA, 115 IP
4. Braves 3.31 ERA, 98 IP
5. Yankees 3.44 ERA, 115 IP
Bottom 5:
30. Astros 5.36 ERA, 141 IP
29. Angels 5.35 ERA, 151 IP
28. Royals 5.23 ERA, 117 IP
27. White Sox 5.10 ERA, 134 IP
26. Twins 5.09 ERA, 120 IP

@ScoringChanges Has everything to do with your pompous tone. And once you were proven wrong, you found a way to dance around it and instead tried to point out where you were “right” based on outdated rules. (Not a Padres fan btw)
English

@TownBallTuesday Of course I knew of the new clarification…you didn’t? Reading is hard for some.
English

@CappingHook @ScoringChanges @BenVerlander @dennistlin You knew this was a recent clarification in the 2026 umpire manual, or you just believed it to be a foul ball because you had no idea what the ruling had always been and were merely speculating?
English

OK, follow along, because I have answers.
Bottom line. This is NOW a foul ball. I talked with the same person @BenVerlander did and the same person @dennistlin talked with, and here is how I can best explain this, and I’ll put this so it makes sense to the scoring followers.
What is in the rulebook is unclear, because it can absolutely be interpreted the way that I, and many, many folks have interpreted it, that the ball touching the ground is a foul ball is in the section about a fair fly ball, so it applies to balls that are hit on a fly past the bases. I wasn’t wrong about that.
However, many times folks here have heard me say that the Official Scorer’s Manual goes into greater detail on something (error, or earned/unearned run, etc.).
As was explained to me, the Umpire’s Manual goes into greater detail on this exact play, new detail for this year, that stresses that this is a foul ball. Now, if it’s moving and touched, that can be interpreted different from what I understand, but as of this year, the ball in the @padres game should have been ruled foul (life would have been easier if France doesn’t touch it).
I was given kudos for knowing the Mets/Pirates play from 2021 and the Yankees/Royals play from 2023, and those plays were both ruled fair at the time, but if those plays happened in 2026, they would be foul.
Likewise, Monday’s play in 2021 or 2023 is fair.
It is known that this needs cleared up better in the OBR for 2027 to avoid this.
It also was explained that the rule needed tweaked and put into the Umpire’s Manual in greater detail due to replay advances, basically because of the issues that parallax can cause.
So yes, it should have been ruled foul from what I have been told, but everything I said made sense because before this was put into the 2026 Umpire’s Manual, it was fair. Everyone that was wrong was wrong because of past precedent and actual info that wasn’t clear. The rule is written where it can be interpreted either way, and I’m satisfied with that.
I feel WAY better hearing it for myself out of my meeting with those folks.
The best part of this is NOW WE KNOW. Now let’s get some changes and educate!

@GUnit_81 Certainly feels like they knew before the game Saturday.
