I don't think AI will eliminate indie hackers. It's true that my 10 years of SWE experience has become more and more irrelevant because AI can now do most of it, but looking back, my SWE skills were only a small part of being an indie hacker. The most important part is still solving valuable problems and looking for customers. If anything, AI created a whole new class of problems that are now open for people to explore and solve. Indie hackers are problem solvers/entrepreneurs, removing the coding part means removing a lot of friction, and it will enable indie hackers to do 10x more at 10x speed.

tried to wire money from one chase account (that i own) to another chase account (that i also own) cue 2 reps hitting me up, 3 fraud alerts, 1 hr+ on multiple phone calls answering insanely basic questions what is wrong with the modern banking system?

Today, Ramp raised $750M at a $44B valuation. Last time we grew this fast, we were 1/20th the size. For 2000 years, business was built on two pillars. Today, a third: intelligence. It’s your least governed cost. It’s also your single greatest opportunity.

The number of times I have had to tell Opus 5 and Fable 5 to talk to me like an excited teenager and not a computer science phd is high. Was going through a Google auth thing and got multiple paragraphs back every turn, when all I really needed was “hey type this in and then log in” and then “cool you’re all set”. It wrote multiple paragraphs just to communicate “all good”. Not only convoluted but a waste of tokens. I don’t mind the detail when I need it, so I don’t want to change the system instructions. But the judgement of the model to determine the simplicity or directness of response seems low. Writing quality (ex: matching my email tone) still higher with Claude. Ideation and directness or “get to the point”-ness better with GPT-5.6.

China is winning the AI war. It saved me from bankruptcy. My AI bill was 1M+/month. I fixed it with open source models. Presenting aisloP episode 3: "The Bill".
