@RepJackKimble News Flash: You do, and SOMEBODY should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember, Maduro is a highly corrupt leader, a known criminal who used his high office to make billions for himself, and has manipulated elections to stay in power, has used his military against his own citizens, has protected his corrupt friends and punished his political enemies. I imagine if we ever had a President like that, other countries might consider invading us to kidnap him too.

@RocketGPT @sciencegirl Can't wait for the US to realise it's 'AnTarCTica' and not 'Anardica'.
English

@sciencegirl “Kerb” is the most adorable silly English spelling I have ever seen
English

@TechOperator Yep! I'm not too proud to admit it.
I'd call my son!!! 😜😎

@EastEndJoe And folks wonder why the world collectively shuddered when you allowed the twice-impeached, convicted criminal to run for president a second time!
Just jail the prick and be done with it!

@Wisdom_HQ My Sun introduced me to World of Warcraft, my first ever video game, 20 years ago. We've been playing ever since.

@fathorses @Dame__Jane That's a completely different issue and has nothing to do with dogs in retail businesses. Conflating these two issues is usually done by those with little concept of logical thinking.😉😎
English

@CaptiveSteel @Dame__Jane Good for you. That’s the same logic used by people who argue men should be allowed in women’s toilets. 😉

Got kicked out of Mitre 10 today 😅 Their website doesn’t say no dogs, so I popped Gabby in a trolley and went in—lovely lady in the garden centre even gave her a cuddle so I figured all was OK. I was having fun piling the trolley high with stuff then was accosted by a staffer: “dogs aren’t allowed in here!”. I said I’d been in store for almost an hour and met other staff none of whom had said this. She wouldn’t have a bar of it: “No no! Get him out!” (Everyone says *him* cos Gabby is so big lol) so I took everything out of my trolley, put it on the floor in front of her and said “No worries. I will go shop at Bunnings”.. Had stuff from nearly every department so I hope she had fun taking it all back! 😁

@SayinMinds @NuZillund @alanmccracken A year is a ridiculously short time, I agree. However, to suddenly remove that right from those who have spent their entire lives living here, working here, paying taxes here, and voting here is just flat out wrong - simply for not getting a bit of paper signed.
English

It should be illegal for non-Citizens to vote in any country that considers itself a democracy.
NZ must change its Electoral Act on voting rights.
in 1975 the Labour Govt amended NZ's Electoral Act to allow nonCitizens to vote, that change needs to be revoked.
NZ is one of the very few countries in the world that allows nonCitizens to vote,
did you know that a Permanent Resident can legally vote in NZ after being a Resident for only 12mths!!!
Only a handful of countries allow non-citizens to vote in national elections, but none only after 12mths; Chile after 5 yrs, Uruguay after 5–8yrs, Malawi after 7 yrs.
NZ needs to return the power of the vote, exclusively, back into the hands of New Zealanders and this needs to happen pronto.
English

@NuZillund @LASHFORD_17 Your country of birth does not determine who you are nor who you pledge allegiance to. Not to mention, the country of my birth does NOT make me a citizen of that country. In fact, MY country of birth changed ITS allegience a year after I was born!
English

@NuZillund @LASHFORD_17 Apart from the fact that I've never been able to afford to spend my money on it.
However, I have NEVER given my allegiance to any other country IN THE WORLD other than New Zealand. I've worked hard and participated in nothing except NZ, it's laws, and the country. I'm a Kiwi!!
English

@fathorses @Dame__Jane I don't agree with any animals in a retail store unless it's a guide or service dog. The bottom line however, is some retailers allow it. That said, I've never had one 'shoved in my face' and only ever witnessed 1 who misbehaved. So, I just suck it up and move on - as one should!
English

@Dame__Jane I love dogs, but I’m sick of someone shoving their manky oodle in my face when I’m trying to buy hardware. Glad they think it’s cute, but I don’t want to pat it.
English

@LASHFORD_17 @NuZillund As a permanent NZ resident of 59 years, I agree it should be looked at. But only insofar as how long you have to live here before you can vote. Start talking about removing my right to vote altogether, however? That's a problem. Don't know if it's been said yet, but if it has

@NuZillund This needs addressing too...

New Zealand allows permanent residents to vote in national general elections after only one year of continuous residence. 😳 BTW, in the 17 years that I lived there, wasn't able vote in the Spanish general elections because having permanent residency didn't allow me to & to become a citizen of Spain I would've had to relinquish my NZ citizenship & wasn't going to do that.
English

@SayinMinds @NuZillund @alanmccracken I'm amazed at how many use 'citizens only' when it comes to voting. It's as if New Zealanders are unaware that some are, and have been for most of their lives, Permanent New Zealand Residents. And that that group are every bit as Kiwi as 'citizens'. Just a thought to keep in mind
English

i dont support only Taxpayers boting.
Every NZ “Citizen” from the age of 20yo should have the right to vote.
But they must show proof of ID at voting booth, no mail-in ballots
and u must be crossed off a central voting roll after youve received your ballot and a voting booth to prevent people voting across multiple voting booths….remember youre only only crossed out of a printed booklet at a voting booth, this doesnt cross u out of booklets held at all other voting booths in your district.
