@FramIsAGoodDog @Tesla @Rivian @LucidMotors It's just a wrap. Camouflage wraps like this are standard for automakers to hide final design details during road testing. This isn't even unique to @LucidMotors as most prototype camouflages do look pretty similar.

It's significantly more expensive to manufacture SiC than standard silicon which has a massive, well-established global supply chain. A few examples of EVs that use standard silicon in their inverters • Nissan Leaf • Chevrolet Bolt EV / EUV • Volkswagen ID.4 / ID.3

It's also important to note that many EVs still use standard silicon (specifically Silicon IGBTs) rather than Silicon Carbide (SiC) for their inverters. This is due to high cost of Silicon Carbide (SiC).

Lucid Cosmos, the @Tesla Model Y and the upcoming @Rivian R2 rival will be be fully unveiled sometime this summer. The upcoming BEV features a sleek fastback profile and is almost similar in size to the Model Y but lower and more aerodynamic than the larger Gravity SUV.
