Our one regret in Hong Kong was at the Cardano night as we did not get our banner up so that the Draper presenter could see it. Then he left pretty quick, so no time to discuss with him. We came in late and did not see room to put it up. At least, we got to hang with a lot of other awesome people. Like you!

I can understand the desire to turtle-up, get our defences up, and wait for the next market cycle. But! I’m afraid (very honestly) that we need to be proactive now, and not wait around, as we might not make it to another cycle in the top 10 or even top 20. Draper in particular is an opportunity that won’t come around again. We do this now as a community and ecosystem, or we bleed out and declare we’re not open for business. I’m sorry if that comes off as harsh - but that’s my honest opinion. We need to be more decisive here. We need to seize these opportunities. ADA isn’t at $1.20 anymore - let alone $3 - and we may never get back there unless we show we’re a serious chain with incredible potential. So we MUST take ourselves seriously and deploy capital today. For example ETH and SOL, respectively - at different times - looked like they were both on deaths’ door. But instead of “waiting it out”, playing it conservatively, or praying that fundamentals would win out, they went all out when they had the lowest possible valuations. And through grit, capital deployment, and entrepreneurial spirit they climbed up to dominate. Alternately, those chains that choose conservative approaches usually choose death. Please, let’s not do that! 🙏 Be careful of course, but let’s spend the needed capital to be ready to dominate in the next cycle.

These pending treasury withdrawals I am finding extremely difficult to come to a decision on. I've had many discussions, it's super, super tough, mainly leaning towards no, although maybe a yes on the Draper proposal. What is your thoughts as a community?

As I said a few days ago, I was still upset about min_utxo on Cardano. Such a sad UX and DevEx 🥲 Buidler Fest allowed me to introduce the idea and reach a whole new iteration thanks to @adamKDean and Alexis that provided huge improvements to it. I was speaking with a Cardano OG that said something that made me think "no one does anything anymore without funding and most stuff that got funded was useless" And that made think. How are other chains doing without any treasury? Are you going to stay around once treasury is over? And finally are you building to get funds from treasury or to innovate?

Not quite like you're 5, but: Layer 0 provides infrastructure to pass messages between chains; I do something on Cardano, and want that to trigger something on Ethereum and Solana. The most basic example of this is bridges, but because it's generic, it can be used to build more sophisticated interactions as well. Their infrastructure is incredibly reliable and comes with a huge amount of ecosystem trust. If you've ever wondered "but we have bridges from other ecosystems, why do we still have a liquidity problem?" a big part of that has been the lack of *trust* in those bridges.

IMO This is the single biggest step forward the Pentad initiative could bring to Cardano. Absolutely fucking amazing, congratulations @IOGroup @Cardano_CF @emurgo_io @IntersectMBO and @midnightfdn

@elraulito At @Carda_station , we keep going with no Catalyst nor Treasury funding. Lack of funding does not stop us. It just slows us down.

To be fair, there is a $1,500 payment as the event are not fully funded by treasury, but you can claim back $1,875 in travel grants after the event. The majority of the events are B2B, multi industry and we have been focusing on connecting solutions providers with companies looking to harness power of blockchain. crypto expo Dubai in September is retail. We originally had a Paris blockchain week, token2049 and a few others in our proposal, but were told to remove them as they were in Unified marketing proposal. We tried to do Paris Blockchain week last year without treasury funding, splitting the costs for a booth into 4. We had CF/masumi and Hydra sign up but couldn’t get a fourth. We aren’t just running the pavilions for projects, we are showing teams how to maximise the events with the pre event framework and the post event follow up tools.

@adamKDean @hix_coffeepool It is a hole that needs to be patched, though we are not drowning from it being open at the moment. We cannot answer your question about cost for node development. Our experience is all around cost for metaverse development.

@hix_coffeepool After Leios there will be some other new shiny on the horizon... It needs to be done at some point, if nothing else to bring those millions of devs into the ecosystem to create some pricing competition. Why do all of our nodes cost millions per year to develop!? 😭

Just wondering if now is the right time for heavy investment in new node developments, given Leios is coming...☕️🤔
