A snap election will take place, facilitated by @IntersectMBO, to elect a new Constitutional Committee member.
📅 Below are all the important dates:
👉 Monday, November 17: Candidate registration opens
👉 Monday, November 25: Candidate registration closes; campaign week begins
👉 Monday, December 1: Voting opens on Ekklesia
👉 Friday, December 5: Voting closes; results audited
👉 Monday, December 8: Governance Action submitted on-chain

1/4 The current CC Compensation governance proposal is unlikely to pass, based on the vote tally and rationales. Accordingly, Cardano Atlantic will retire our CC keys on November 25th, following the epoch transition, to allow active proposals to ratify or expire.

Thank you CAC for your service!
Their upcoming retirement brings the CC down to six members, which is below the 7-member minimum required for governance.
As a result, all governance actions requiring CC approval will not be able to be ratified, basically halting Cardano governance.
This halting will remain in effect until a new member is added via the update committee governance action.
Filling this vacancy is our highest priority for Cardano governance to resume normal operations.

3/4 It appears the DRep community lacks appetite to compensate CC members. Our decision is not a negotiation tactic or plea for Yes votes; it simply reflects a misalignment of expectations. From the outset, we were transparent that pursuing compensation is part of our criteria.
