When I was applying for SBA loans for my business, the lender advised I take out new credit cards first to increase my credit score. It felt irresponsible. Then he told me,"You're worth nothing to no one unless you owe something to someone," and I think about that all the time.

It's back-to-school and I'm reminded of how ridiculous it was that (in order to graduate college) I had to take 4 semesters of gym, but not a single class on personal finance?! Are there any universities that require a 1-credit course like this ("Adulting 101")?
