Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

I’ve supported Donald Trump. I still support a lot of his policies. But this week I have to be honest — and if you know me, you know I’m going to tell it like it is no matter who it offends. Trump went on Truth Social and called Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones low IQ and stupid. I know Tucker personally. He is neither of those things. None of them are. Then Trump posted an image of himself that looked like Jesus Christ — and had to take it down. I’m a Christian. I can’t stay quiet on that. I’m also going to give you my honest take on Iran, Netanyahu, and why Trump desperately needs a real consigliere — not a yes man. The mob got that part right. This isn’t me turning on Trump. I support the ethics committee’s investigation and believe Eric Swalwell is no longer fit to be a Member of Congress. He should be expelled from Congress. I want to be clear: I had no knowledge of the allegations of assault, harassment, and predatory behavior against Eric Swalwell. I trusted someone who I believed was a friend, but it is now clear that he is not the person I thought I knew. The women who have come forward have shown courage. They deserve to be believed, to be supported, and to see justice served.
