@TRobinsonNewEra @elonmusk Racism like most sins is ultimately its own punishment. South African citizens are being denied affordable reliable internet by their own government.

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

The IRS admitted in 2019 that it disproportionately audits low income citizens because it’s “the most efficient use of available IRS examination resources.” Such initiatives always end up targeting people other than those for whom they were designed. The poor and the middle class in WA are in for a rude awakening.

@Frog521987 @nypost So what? It so specifically excludes children of foreign citizens, “under the jurisdiction of”. Kindly read the actual debates prior to its passing before posting poorly worded and vague summaries written over a century later.

If you pray, I ask you to join me in praying for the Patterson family. Almost 4 years ago, their baby twins were taken from them due to injuries they got from having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and metabolic bone disorder. DCF insisted that their injuries were caused by abuse, despite the fact that every single medical expert, including the former Child Protection Team (CPT) doctor who previously worked with DCF, have reviewed the case and found that the children’s injuries are consistent with their medical conditions, not abuse. At one point, the twins were getting worse under DCF care until they started giving them medical care for their conditions, further proving that their injuries were caused by their conditions. They need care, not to be taken from their parents. Despite all of this, DCF is moving forward with permanently terminating Michael and Tasha's parental rights and immediately placing their children with adoption. Please join me in praying that God softens the hearts and opens the eyes of @GovRonDeSantis and @hatchfl, the head of DCF, and gives them wisdom to review this case, reverse course and give the Patterson twins back to Michael and Tasha. We pray that God gives Michael and Tasha peace and comfort during this difficult time. We pray that God gives us the clarity and strength we need to defend this family until their children are returned to them. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

The 14th amendment DOES NOT support birthright citizenship for anyone except former slaves, and thus does not need to be changed. They debated this for a solid week I think before they passed it. When it says it does not to apply to people "under the jurisdiction of another country" they mean foreigners.

@CarlJPeters @nypost No, the constitution needs to be ratified because that amendment is specifically in there so the only way to change something that’s in an amendment is certify it

@kiko69264573307 @nypost Probably a trollbot, since the statement is ridiculous. But will still remind folk Art1 Sec9 expressly prohibits this kind of ex past facto action, and just like the 14th amendment (if you understand english) it's not in anyway vague.

@Frog521987 @nypost I am not even sure the constitution itself needs to be amended. A simple law might do, but it's the choice if the legislature and NOT the executive. For over a century the executive overstepped their authority and just made it a thing with zero legal authority to do so.
