@davidfowl Having direct feedback in the IDE when composing complex structures is such a win when using a DSL over YAML. Improving the first time right, bringing a deeper understanding of context and thus provide better feedback, built-in refactoring, especially when it has become 500+lines

#Indy500

ADeLe, a new evaluation method, explains what AI systems are good at—and where they’re likely to fail. By breaking tasks into ability-based requirements, it has the potential to provide a clearer way to evaluate and predict AI model performance: msft.it/6014SkVGC

@dhh I do think optimization comes after validating a product works and delivers value. Scaling towards the demand drives efficiency aspects automatically imo. Basically following Drucker, do the right thing, then do it right.

I respect the true moonshots, but I also roll my eyes at the endless parade of wannabes who are SO BUSY imagining how they're going to rule the world one day that saving millions on operations is simply beneath them. Efficiency is a reward all of its own!

Saving $2m/yr on infra expenses is both compatible with and COMPLIMENTARY of building more. Ops people don't write product features! Besides, we've built a bunch of AI features internally that we never released because they didn't make the product better. Wish others did that!
Zack Kanter@zackkanter

It unfortunately seems that 37signals spent the last two and a half years on a Manhattan project to reduce COGS at the expense of thus far completely missing AI (at least I can’t find any mention of features on their websites). The opportunity cost was always huge.
