My wife and mother-in-law were involved in a road rage incident today in Rowlett while on the way to pick up our child from daycare. A driver in a Ford truck associated with @pillarroofing (TX plate: LJC 1424) became impatient while my wife waited for service road traffic to clear. According to my wife, the driver exited his truck, yelled at her, got back in, attempted to drive around her, and struck the side of our Cybertruck with his passenger-side mirror, causing visible damage. Afterward, he allegedly left his lane to continue the confrontation and made an obscene gesture before driving off. We have video footage from the Cybertruck and will be filing a police report with @Rowlett_PD Most importantly, my wife is shaken up after the incident. If this is someone representing your company, @pillarroofing, I hope you take this seriously.

Today the FBI and DOJ announced the arrests of Cornelius Shannon and Arturo Hernandez, both of whom were charged with violations of the TAKE IT DOWN Act. The TAKE IT DOWN Act prohibits nonconsensual publication of AI-generated digital forgeries (deepfake) pornography. Shannon and Hernandez allegedly posted thousands of images and videos that appeared to depict real people nude and/or engaging in sexual acts, and victims included actresses, singers, and political figures. Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.

Some info is exaggerated, wrongly attributed, or straight up fabricated, but at the base are real issues Datacenters are necessary and need to keep being built so the US can remain a top player in the AI race, but mitigations are necessary to reduce impact on local communities and the environment It shouldn't be hard to fix - sounds pollution - light pollution Medium difficulty - ensure water supply to communities is not impacted More difficult/costly, but necessary - ecological damage (warm water output can have a major impact on flora/fauna). Utilize more closed or mostly closed loop systems to reduce warm water runoff - power rates. Data centers need to help offset power rate increases. Easiest win is to not build near any residential areas. Investment in power production/storage and innovative cooling are necessary

Why is there suddenly such an aggressive push against American data centers and AI infrastructure? After seeing a major spike in coordinated opposition campaigns around our Utah projects, we conducted a digital audit and traced a large amount of the activity back to an organization called Alliance for a Better Utah, which has been pushing misinformation throughout Box Elder County about our data center developments. What’s even more concerning is where the funding appears to originate. After reviewing IRS Form 990 filings and tracing the network behind it, the money appears tied to Chinese linked funding channels connected through an organization called Arabella. Think about the incentive, if China is racing to dominate AI and compute capacity, why wouldn’t they want to slow American infrastructure down?

I'm surprised that's all they lost. They should have done a hard pivot to SOMETHING earlier on. I have no idea what but it's likely too late now anyway. If they thought they could compete directly, their leadership team is severely incompetent. Though BlackBerry is still inexplicably alive. Maybe Hughesnet can find a unique niche as BlackBerry did. Likely not standard home/business Internet as we use it. I'm thinking more industrial scenarios where latency doesn't really matter. Perhaps private networks. Price will need to be worth it though

Agreed. I'm assuming that's the plan, just ensuring bullet proof reliability and a few enhancements needed first. For example, grok requires internet, and if someone is counting on voice controls this can't be a limitation. Tesla will need to offload some prompts to the local car AI computer, which will hopefully be the case sooner than later.

I really like Grok is the car, but having two “assistants” is confusing. Short press if I want non-grok to control the car Long press to use Grok - who cannot control the car (other than navigation) Hoping we can ditch the previous in car voice control and just have grok do everything and also add functionality similar to what Rivian is offering.
