@JoeCallaghan84 At around 85 minutes he sprinted half the pitch after a corner to pressure their defender, unbelievable desire

At 95:01, Parrot is all the way out on the byline pressuring the clearance. At 95:11 he scores the winner. Absolutely incredible.

@GerOnSport @ek_rugby Surely that can’t be the rule because no team would kick to the corner if the opposition just had to knock on to end game

@ek_rugby Is that definitely the rule…? From open play the game wouldn’t end on a France knock on with Ireland in play so why does it on a lineout?

In the final play, France win after a knock-on at the lineout 5 metres from their own line. Heartbreak for Ireland, relief for France. It's going to take a while to calm down after this one. #FRAvIRE #RWC2025

Tremendous defensive effort from #MUFC. Maguire won so much in the air, De Ligt with a stunning clearance, whole team did so well with 10 men for an hour. Looked like Amorim shifted Martinez upfield to get height in box at end for Arsenal’s crosses. Officiating pretty awful.

@ciaranahern Reasonable time? They can send a text out in 30 seconds. People will cope if they have too. Let schools decide for themselves on Monday morning

If schools are to close on Monday due to the cold weather I’m calling on the Govt to issue clear guidance on this by 6pm on Sunday ❄️🚫📚 Schools need reasonable time to pass the message on and parents need some time to plan ⏰ irishtimes.com/ireland/2025/0…

@PerformTraynor What’s that got to do with anything above, rightly or wrongly there’s a much bigger fan base for Gaelic football than hurling and there were 4 teams playing today 🤷‍♂️

The amount of people who watch gaelic football, complain about it, & actually underneath it all hate gaelic football, is saddening and a bit mental. Ye won’t be happy til you ruin it altogether. Here’s a newsflash: you don’t have a god given right to be entertained every game.

@RichardClune7 @CiDeely To improve before we can expect championship wins on a regular basis. It’s possible but there’s loads that needs to happen first in my eyes

@RichardClune7 @CiDeely We need to have realistic expectations, I worked in Kildare gaa for 4 years the S&C programs in schools and clubs would be way ahead, our school competitions barely exist. I could go down the road of referee availability, training facilities and loads more areas that need 1/2

What a cruel way for Wicklow to lose a Championship game! - Wicklow Penalty to draw the game - Open goal chance missed (from distance-not always the easiest to finish for the chap) - Kildare go up other end and miss a chance - but catch the wayward kick & fist pass it (🙄) over the bar for the winner Sport can be very cruel sometimes x.com/cahairokane1/s…

@RichardClune7 @CiDeely These and previous Wicklow teams are punching way above their weight given the structures they have come through compared to counties like Kildare and Westmeath

@CiDeely Being from Wicklow I’m sick of these results, so many games throughout the years of if we did this or if we did that. The underdog status seeps in and we don’t just go on to win things. A man up with the wind for the second half. How did we even give them the chance to win?

@ShaneSmith197 Possible to have a set of rules for indoor games, lots of school halls available on weekends. Maybe not for official competitions but will give clubs an alternative to cancelling everything

Unprecedented levels of unplayable pitches recently. Traditional morning games for kids may now require flexibility. All weather pitches are often under-utilised at wknd afternoons. E.g. Could u10s play at 4pm? Or u12s at 5pm? Just a thought but solutions required. Any more?

“How do we see that Brexit shot the UK in the foot, but we can’t see that this is shooting us in the foot?” @NTBreakfast's Ciara Kelly reacts to a new study suggesting a united Ireland could cost €20bn every year for 20 years: “I cannot make myself care enough about the four green fields to want to impoverish a generation of my own family and relatives”.

@PerformTraynor When you start accepting that it’s okay to grab your face and go down like a tonne of bricks for that level of contact then Gaelic football is on a slippery slope. Exactly what happened in soccer 20 years ago now pundits just say it’s part of the game

One easy rule change to improve #gaa is time limit for frees/45’s, keepers taking an age to get shot off

Special moment at last night’s underage session when John Joe Maguire - father of Fulham Irish underage co-founder @seanmag_ - celebrated his 84th birthday watching his grandson Jack get some pre-season training in. Tooting a long way from Lavey but GAA roots know no borders 🖤💚
