@d_h_sanders Retards see this and think was where gun technology was at when they wrote the bill of rights. Guns were much further along than this.

@syclonepace @Freecitizen864 @War_Radar2 Europe is in fact rather good at this ”stuff” which is evidenced by the performance of our jets in exercises against American ones and other countries such as China. Look at the export market, numerous countries have chosen European jets to equip their air forces.

@Carolus1871 @Freecitizen864 @War_Radar2 They don’t have to move to make a large radar return. These aren’t stealth jets anyway so it doesn’t matter. They would be shot down easily by all other fighter jets though. Europe is not good at this stuff.

‼️🇸🇪🇺🇦🇪🇺🇷🇺 NATO’s next nightmare for Russia may be the Swedish Gripen. Sweden says preparations for sending Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine are rapidly advancing, with funding plans already in place and a deal potentially just months away. If finalized, Kyiv could soon receive one of Europe’s deadliest modern fighters to challenge Russian air power. Source: Swedish Defense Ministry / Ukrainian Defense Ministry

@syclonepace @Freecitizen864 @War_Radar2 Yes they do in fact need to move to make a large radar return, the Chinese even did a study on canards vs conventional horizontal stabilizers and found that canards do not reduce frontal stealth if they are designed with this in mind.

@syclonepace @Freecitizen864 @War_Radar2 Why do people think that canards = massive RCS? They are not constantly at their max deflection angles as videogames like to portray. If you actually look at the canards on a Gripen when in normal flight they barely move at all when manoeuvring.

@Freecitizen864 @War_Radar2 No it isn’t. It’s one of the worst 4th gen jets built out of Europe. Nothing stealthy about it and those canards will light radars up like a Christmas tree. Nobody even wanted to buy a Gripen when an F16 beats it every time and is old.

@milkalade @NkuP95286 @Alfa_Particle @rinsakaviation A HUD is inherently more precise then a HMD when it comes to accurate cueing of targeting information. A HUD also allows for flying without a HMD which most pilot’s necks will be very grateful for.

@PeterGi08603862 @Darkwand @GripenNews Man fuck off. Even if Saab released a statement that it works you’d just say that they are lying like you did about the GaN in Giraffe

@PeterGi08603862 @Darkwand @GripenNews You must be retarded, you made a stupid claim and I showed that Saab indeed has developed GaN radars and used a radar antenna for the Gripen and the Giraffe to prove my point.

@PeterGi08603862 @Darkwand @GripenNews You call me a troll? You made the rather bold claim that Saab ”hasn’t developed a GaN radar” a claim that I debunked, and now you are deflecting. Just admit that you were wrong.

@PeterGi08603862 @Darkwand @GripenNews What is the point you are trying to make? The ES-05 is a completely different radar developed by Leonardo and has nothing to do with this discussion.

@Carolus1871 @Darkwand @GripenNews Since you missed it, directly from SAAB: “Saab considers (the currently-unnamed AESA) as part of the PS-05/A family, and is planning to offer it as an upgrade option for Gripen C/Ds. The E will retain the ES-05, as the GaN AESA remains under development.” ES-05 uses GaA.

@PeterGi08603862 @Darkwand @GripenNews If it’s a prototype or not is irrelevant to the argument since what you claimed was that Saab ”hasn’t developed a GaN radar” which they objectively have developed, how would they otherwise have the prototype? And do you really expect them to release classified results?

@Carolus1871 @Darkwand @GripenNews You’re looking at an experimental prototype which flew an abbreviated test program whose results have never been released, cobbled together to persuade India to fund its development. India rejected SAAB and bought Rafales instead.

@Jeff91107111 @AlexRMcColl When the Brazilians signed the contract the Gripen E didn’t even exist . First flight was in 2017 and the first delivery of a serial aircraft was in 2019 to Sweden and 2022 to Brazil. It took 11 years to develop the aircraft AND deliver the first Brazilian prod serial aircraft.

The first Brazilian-assembled Gripen E (from Embraer’s line in Gavião Peixoto), rolled out in Q1 2026, about 11+ years after the 2014 contract. On that timescale, Canadian produced Grippens will roll of the line around 2037. By that time, 5th and 6th-Gen’s will be using them for target practice. About of third of those Grippen’s components (including engines!) will be U.S. sourced. Fun fact: The United States effectively has a say — and in many cases, a potential veto — over where the Saab JAS 39 Gripen (particularly the E/F variants) can be exported to third countries.

NATO to purchase up to 12 Saab/Bombardier GlobalEyes. If Canada is going to set up a domestic production line in Quebec, then now is the time to get our own order in, otherwise militarization work would likely happen in Sweden (green aircraft are made in Toronto either way).

@Darkwand @GripenNews SAAB hasn’t developed a GaN radar, and the Americans already have it in APG-82 and AIM-260, and soon in APG-85. The US has developed the three most powerful radars ever installed in fighters. “…flying off the shelves…”🤣🤣🤣
