Canada says it will go door to door to collect guns… and people still say nobody’s coming for your guns. Let that sink in. In Canada, 98% of gun owners basically said no to the government’s so-called buyback program. And instead of backing off? Now the conversation turns into police going door to door for collection. That’s not a buyback. That’s not voluntary. That’s confiscation dressed up in softer language. And this is exactly why gun owners never trust the line: “Nobody’s coming for your guns.” Because eventually the mask always comes off. First it’s common sense. Then it’s registration. The anti-independence crowd is seriously messed up. I was in line at a grocery store checkout Edmonton today when this older boomer guy started staring me down, looking all flustered and pissed off. It took me a second to realize that it was probably my Alberta Republic hat setting him off. Once he paid and was heading out, he turned to me and declared, "I'm Canadian," then mumbled a few other things under his breath. Knowing how unhinged some of these folks can get, from some posts by @martyupnorth, and others in the independence space. I just calmly said back: "That's great! Then you agree with democracy and the right for people to vote on what they want, right?" He was not happy with my response.
